Too much oil and poor dealer help

This guy’s issues go far beyond frequent regen. Exhaust in cab, engine knock, oil level constantly rising on its own - and thats just what I remember off the top of my head. If his experience was pervasive, there would already be lawsuits much less recalls. If anything following your logic they should have just bought the truck back to shut him up and sweep the problem under the rug.
Oh I’m well aware of his issues which stemmed from frequent regens. There’s no logic in how Ram has handled this issue with OPs truck or any of the other members with this same issue and it’s the same issue, doesn’t mean there aren’t more at play here. Carry on with your line of thought, we both agree Ram should have bought the truck back already. I don’t trust corporations, especially in this scenario but you are certainly entitled to trust them. There’s no point for arguing with me about my opinion cause I simply don’t have the same level of trust that you do and that’s the bottom of the debate here.

Wonder if there is some kind of programming glitch going on that’s not throwing a check engine light. That is so strange, with all the different things replaced/checked.

I thought about that too. It would have to be a bad sensor or something throwing off. It will be something stupid and the engineering department is acting too smart.

My 2021 with 90000km is in the garage with same problem over full on my oil and p2459 was told by dealer they took 4 litres of oil out of my truck told me was all good I drive home like 20km regen already back up to 45% so I checked my oil lvl to get a pic for reference and was up on the metal after 20 km had it towed to the dealer and they told me I was over full by about another 4 litres now it’s been in the shop over a week and there baffled .
They put die into my fuel filter to see if they could pick it up said they can’t find a leak then dealer told me they figured it was def in the oil I told them waste of time don’t know how def fluid would get in oil . Now I’m left without a rental and no further ahead then I was last week

I think I saw your post on Facebook. I would read my whole thread and maybe even show your dealership it as well. I would get on Geno's garage and order some fleet guard oil analysis kits. For the dealer to say it is DEF in your oil you might want to find another dealership. Get a Ram care case going so you can get a rental going. I would not drive it any further.

They have not been able to get my truck into the shop yet the verify DOC. Ram must be taking the knocking sound seriously now as they Said they are probably pulling cam to chase noise. RAM care also told me they are working with technicians and dealership for possible motor replacement.
Well there’s another $20-30k if they do a full motor hahaha

Sounds like good news.

We decided to let me test drive my truck again after the EGR was repaired. We do not think it will fix it but we will know for sure soon. On my way home the motor knock is back so that hasn't changed lol maybe it will really blow up this time?

Back in the olds days, we all standing around swiggin' a Billy Beer listening to Bubba's truck making that sound would all nod and say, "Yep. That's a rod knockin' for sure."

Lol I would say the same but all bearings were inspected. Next week I should know more as they should be tearing into my motor.

Read this entire thread, Dinky503, thank you for documenting all of your troubles. I custom ordered my 2021 truck and had planned to put 500k+ miles on it, but it has been doing the frequent regen thing for a while now. I typically had my screen on the fuel economy page and never watched the DPF level page. My last few oil changes have all been at least a gallon over filled with "oil" so I am guessing that my engine will soon be eating itself also. I did send off an oil sample last week so I am very curious to the results of that. I did take the truck to the dealer last year with the "Too Frequent Regen" check engine light, they "fixed" it, and it went right back to doing the same thing and they then started telling me that the parts were not available. I have been checking in with them almost monthly checking on the parts, to be told the same thing, likely a critical error on my part to getting them to actually fix this thing. I use the truck 50/50 for daily driving and towing a 20k+ pound race car trailer and it is my only vehicle that I can pick up my kids from school in. This was my first new vehicle purchase ever so its a pretty big bummer that it's having issues.

Thank you, I kept the documentation going just so others can see what could go wrong lol. I bet everyone at Ram knows my truck and the problems they can't seem to fix.

It's a bummer I was hoping to do the same with my truck. It was supposed to last me min the next 10 years and here we are. What really sucks it doesn't matter what brand of truck it is they are all crap.
