Too much oil and poor dealer help

I think the major issue is that this will never be a problem with a “one size fits all” solution. The level of complexity these trucks have is staggering. There are multiple independent systems that all tie together when it comes to regenerating the DPF. If any one of those subsystems has an issue, the balance gets upset and things start working incorrectly. Add to this variables in each trucks daily duty cycle, as well as the type of operator the truck has, and you have a very complicated issue that requires significant amounts of time to digest, dissect, and diagnose. It’s a snowball of complexity, enlarged by lack of experienced technicians, made further larger by dealerships that are under time crunches and out of service deadlines, and what you end up with is a conundrum.
Well said. I’m keeping my fingers I never have any problems with this truck.

I spoke with the service manager of the dealership that did my K1 repair today and he said they've had two 2022 Rams with the regen/oil dilution problem. One was bad injectors and the other one was a bad seal on the high pressure fuel pump. I'm certain the POS I bought has both problems.

Ram Cares

As of Thursday January 18th, Matthew with Ram Care told me to pound sand and closed my case. there was nothing you could do and took the dealers side. so i guess continue to fill my oil with diesel and run more miles was the answer?

You have discovered what most who have had contact with Ram Care figured out. At first I thought it was a good thing they had a presence on the forum, until I saw most peoples experience including my own. Good luck, I hope the dealer gets it figured out for you.

Yeah if I owned the forum I would kick them off the platform lol.

I've considered reaching out to them for my myriad issues, but from what I've gleaned from this and a few other sources I think they are more interested in data mining and probably flagging people.

This is my morning oil check, 250 miles since the orginal dealer pick up check.

Does anyone know how many quarts it is from min fill mark to full mark?

Thank you, I tried to look at the manual this morning and didn't see it that would explain it.

Well **** 2 quarts of oil for free in 250miles I should be Rich soon.

Check it exactly the same every time and take photos, that’s a ridiculous amount of oil increase.

Make sure you're just pulling the stick and checking after it sat overnight. If you pull, wipe, re-insert and pull again,. you're getting a false reading.

It is a ton of diesel in the system. I am not a certified tech, but if I did my math like Google told me and based off the first dealer pick notation. I am at a 20% fuel in oil ratio right now, dealer instructed me to do this and ram care backed them up.

I started adding a water mark to the photo. I have been checking the oil after it had sat all night on level ground. I typically pull the dip stick out 3-4 times and get the excess off the top that might be there.

After sitting overnight just pull it out once, when you do it multiple times you’re potentially getting a false high reading by putting oil into the dipstick tube.

Had a guy on another forum think he was 2 quarts overfilled for that reason.

Gotcha. Well this can't be we have check multiple times by me and the dealer lol. Far from the first reading and have not added anything. Truck is producing its own .

All he is saying is in the morning or whenever the truck has sat for a few hours, go out, pull the dipstick, and note your level. Do not sit there 3 times pulling out the dipstick and reinserting to “triple check” the oil level because each time you do that you drag oil up the dipstick tube and it will transfer to the dipstick giving you a false reading. So in other words pull the thing once, note your level then reinsert and go about your day.
