Tire cupping

In over 20 years, various tire brands, 35s and 37s in AT, RT and MT, I've only had cupping once. I just don't remember what I did to fix it.

I drive all of my trucks more like sports cars. I know there will be some wear on the outer edge. But when everything in the suspension is set right and the alingment is correct, there is very little wear on the outer edge of the tread.

I have cupping/ scalloping from the outer lug to the next lug. I can also hear it in the road noise.

It's hard to see but there is cupping on both edges, just hard to see, plus I'm rotating about every 2K miles to try and minimize it. None of the other tires I had on for 30K plus miles did this.
You can recognize that no other tires did this so that just proves my point further its likely the tires themselves

That’s my thought as well. With all the stuff checked, and how the tires themselves actually look I think it’s that specific tread pattern and compound combined with the driving style.

Sorry, but I'm not buying that theory.

If it was the tire itself, then why would it take 30K miles to show up?
I've had my fair share of bad tires, but 4 bad ones at once? And of all the bad tires I've had, none ever cupped. It was more a bad mold and the tires would not balance.

I'm keeping an eye on the tires I move to the back to see if they smooth out or not while running on the rear.

Thats actually not that uncommon to start to have wear issues towards the end of a tires life or past 1/2 for the reasons mentioned above

I'm starting to notice the truck gets unsettled over bumps on the freeway that I never noticed before. Some actually start to cause a bit of death wobble. But does not go hard core.

Tires are only at half life. 30K of a 50K tire.
Never had one have wear issues before, unless there was a mechanical issue with the vehicle.

Have you ever done anything that could’ve bent your front axle housing?

I would verify the toe adjustment yourself and check the alignment shop's work just to be sure.

My truck had a slight pull to the right and the same slight cupping you describe and when I measured I had about 15* of toe in.

Set mine to 0* and now tracks straight as an arrow... hopefully the cupping goes away too.

15° is quite excessive is that from the factory?
