Anyone have experience with tire chains on their HD?
Im looking for something aggressive to get up/down an icy hill in an emergency or to get me thru forestry roads after a rain turns them to mud.

Im looking at these : VC296
I suspect they are more aggressive than the Class U specified in the RAM manual.
The site says they need 3 fingers clearance. lol

That's some nasty traction enhancements right there. Looks like plenty of clearance from my perspective. Thanks for sharing.

I noticed the manual says chains on the rear wheels only. Anyone know why? I’d think that having the fronts chained up would be pretty important.

If the issue is clearance, then would cable type chains alleviate the concern?

Clearance issue (except 3500 DRW) for the class of chain being specified. Cable is not specified in the OM so you'd be on yer own but that's not to imply that they wouldn't work.

ahhhr, Just asking. Why didn't you lock the cam tensioner's (cam buckles) on those chains?
I was just testing the fit.
I'll get them tighter when I actually use them
