Anyone ever run chains on both axles of a PW? The owners manual seems to indicate they should only be put on the rear axle. Curious if anyone has tried otherwise?

I have a set of HD V-bar chains for the rear and lightweight chains for the front. The lightweight chains snug up to the tire better.

I personally would not run chains up front on my PW especially with 35's or larger, but even stock I think you could run into trouble with clearance. I would like to check out the cables to see how well they hold up. I have not actually ever looked at a pair but need to as they could be nice on icy forest service roads and trails.

I only run the v-bars in the back, but cables front or rear.
The cables have held up well. I have used them a few times—mixed condition icy/dirt road, snowy offroad trails, deep sugar snow (they were not effective), and once a few miles on the street that became incredibly icy at the beginning of a blizzard. They are wayyy lighter than ladder chains, but I personally think v-bars are easier to install.
