Thuren alignment specs question

25,600 miles on factory Firestones, still plenty of tread, notice slight outer edge wear. Rotate regularly.
Going with Cooper AT3 XLT's before winter. Tire shop where I will get these do not do alignments.
My question...
Should I spend a little money and have my trucks alignment checked/done to the Thuren Specs?
Drives fine, and as mentioned, there seems to be just a bit of outside edge wear.
Also, does the fact that I carry a 2,000 lb. truck bed camper, in any way affect the numbers in the Thuren specs?
It just kind of eats at me thinking the alignment might be off and if I have it done to specs, I might get longer life out of my next set of tires.

yep, get it aligned and Thuren specs are better.

After replacing my tires with BFG's at 200 miles, and then putting 2K miles on them, I could see wear on the outer edge.

Took truck in to my shop and sure enough, OEM alignment was out of spec.

Thuren says 0 toe for their spec, factory has a wide range with 0 being one side of that range. 30K miles, no wear and truck drives great.

You’re always going to have outer edge wear on the front tires on an 8000 on truck. When you turn you do that.

Thuren specs are considered to be the best alignment settings for these trucks. I think pretty much everybody recommends them.

I did mine in my driveway. I left a tiny tiny bit of toe in on mine and set my caster to pretty close to 4.2° and I’ve been happy with mine.

I assume you've got some of those bolt on diy alignment tools?

On the factory alignment at 7k miles the outside of both my fronts were wearing uneven. I added a 1 in spacer and aligned to Thuren specs so we will see how my tires wear. I also rotated my tires so I am hoping the fronts wear evenly and my rears should level out over the net few months.

Hello all, I'm looking for a good alignment shop in Delaware. If anyone knows of one please advise. Thanks.
