2025 Ram 4500...Is there a fuse that I can easily pull to prevent the truck from starting when away from the house for a prolonged time. A house break in or I've heard of key cloning is always on my mind when away. Would rather replace a starter or something than loose her completely.
 
There are a couple longer threads here about this with some suggestions, etc. I did not find them in my history but maybe someone else has them bookmarked and will post the links here for you. I remember that there is a user here also that has a solution available via private message. I keep my FOBs in a Faraday rather than just hanging by the front door. I started that a few years ago to save the battery when not using the truck for long periods but it also makes the FOBs invisible if someone does decide to snoop the neighborhood with one of those cloning devices.

Though IDNK if his solution will work on a 25+. Same goes for key cloning, which AFAIK needs to be able to read your existing FOB. I expect the 25+ have all but defeated this vulnerability.

Nothing short of removing physical access keeps someone from a hook and book theft.
 
Actually, if Jimmy07 is still selling his, it works great. I have it on my truck and my Challenger

I did that for a few months, but buying the immobilizer eliminated the hassle of regularly pulling and reinstalling the OEM starter relay.
 
I have a used, 30 year old explorer with an alarm that has a built in immobilizer.

While the installer did a "decent quality aftermarket install" - it has been a PITA. The only person it has prevented from driving is me, and it has not been easy to completely remove.

Conventional aftermarket automotive grade crimps and terminals are not very good.

Sometimes I wonder if some of the electronics issues of new trucks are from dealer / aftermarket trackers, etc.

The immobilizer I linked above only requires swapping the OEM starter relay for the immobilizing one -- no other components (other than the immobilizer's remote control) are needed. So far, I've had no issues with it. It also has a "valet" mode that temporarily allows the truck to start without needing the remote.

OTOH, the company that did the wiring for my bed cap install did a pretty crappy job. I still need to clean that mess up.
