Beech Lane Pickup Truck Tailgate Ladder - Universal Fit, Stainless Steel Self Drilling Hex Screws for Easy Install, Durable Aluminum Step Grip Plates, and Sturdy Rubber Ladder Feet https://a.co/2XtscFO

I had one it was ok . It rattled and you have to bring it down to slide something into the bed and the securing strap broke after awhile . I would give it a C-

I put one on and it does help getting in and out of the bed, rattling is not a big deal, an extra bungie solved that issue. It does add weight to the tailgate which makes it heavier and you get a slight bang when opening the tailgate. I think the step from the factory is probably the best assist device and I'm still thinking of getting one. I guess the ladder would get a C in my book!

I have the aftermarket OEM style step on both my 2016 Eco and my 2020 HO. IMO the best way to go unless you are in and out of the bed constantly, then the ladder type is better, but not the one on this thread.

I’m still awaiting my truck but I have the Chinese clone of the oem step from eBay. I’ve seen a couple of positive reports about it. And it was just over $200 shipped.

This link is the best looking ladder step I’ve seen but it is overpriced imo. https://stepdaddyladder.com/

Just a side note on the OEM step if you have Rock tamers or any hitch mounted mud flaps you wone be able to ise the step the only issue i have with the step really

Im wanting the OEM step but that price is crazy ! I am in Canada and its 685 plus taxes.

Get the AMP Bedstep # 75324-01A. It's available, a lot cheaper and basically the same as OEM. Maybe is the same. I have them on my 1500 and my 3500.

From reports I've heard, the OEM step is beefier and stronger than the AMP step.

I ordered my truck with the bed group package which included the OEM step. Glad I did. Works great and tucks in better than the AMP step. More hidden.

I don't think the AMP is weaker. Yes, OEM tucks tighter. I actually lowered the AMP on my 3500 for easier access, not concerned about the look or being hidden. And 190.00 on Amazon vs 685.00 is a huge difference for something that is as good and does the same thing.

Not trying to contradict, just putting my experience out there to help anyone trying to decide. They should have no concerns with an AMP.

Understand. AMP steps are quality. I've run their retractable running boards on my last 3 trucks. Never had any issues with them.

Purchasing the OEM step when ordering as part of the bed group package is the best way to go.
Buying one after truck purchase yea, its expensive. AMP would be the way to go in that case.

As for the step ladder, I actually looked into making my own for my K5 Blazer. But I sold the truck before i built one.

I was watching Power Nation the other day and they installed a bed tool box. One of the options for the box was a stowable ladder that mounts inside the box and folds out over the bed side to give you easy access to the box or the bed. Cool idea if you run a bed box.

I’ve got the amp and I like it. Seems plenty sturdy and mounts super sturdy. The plastic step would be the limiting factor. I’m sure it has a listed weight capacity (edit - it does: 300lb)

I have no experience with the oem step

You can find Chinese clones of the 2500/3500 oem bed step on eBay for less than $200. I have one in my closet awaiting my truck. It looks good.

Check on Ebay.
When I went shopping for my AMP door steps, I found a guy on there who was $200 less than everyone else. Want to say he was out of Florida. New, in the box, shipped from the warehouse. No issues.

If you shop around, you can usually find better deals than Amazon. Or at least I have.
