Well I remove the chrome Ram 2500 hood emblem inserts, and disassembled them.
Removing is easy use two plastic body panel removal tools, tape around it first a little leverage and the pop out no broken clips.
Using a soldering pencil just melted each tab, and a small flat screw driver and removed the 2500, Heavyduty, and chrome surround.
A little clean up, scuff and shot the parts semi gloss black, left the HD emblem orange..let it all dry then reassemble with a solder iron melt the push in pins, added a row on 3m double sided tape popped them back.
The tailgate emblem, masked it off on the truck. Red scotch brite pad, prep wipe, 3 coats of semigloss black..let it dry peel off tape..
Not perfect but it looks better than the chrome look.
