Surprise and disappointment - DEF Burn rate

My 2021 RAM 3500 HO now has 5500 miles on the ODO. This is my first DEF vehicle and I have to say I'm very surprised at the rate I'm burning DEF.

I've read other posts and it seems like I'm running about the same rate as others but much higher than my friends 2500 Ford. It looks like he's getting about 2.5times the miles I see on my truck. He has a 7gal DEF tank and only fills every 5000 miles, during regular service.

I just had the first oil change to flush the factory stuff and the dealer said my truck is running correctly.

Does anyone know it there is a software revision/TSB out there or coming to address this?

TIA
I just turned 4,000 miles on my 2021. I have used one 2.5 gallon box about every 1,000 miles. Towing vs. hwy does not seem to make too much difference.

my first 1600 miles, on my 22' and added 2.4 gallons of def, mostly highway miles, driving empty

I was at 594 MPG at around 5200 miles. When towing my 5th wheel, it drops to about 300 MPG. I have just under 13,000 miles now, and my average to date is right at 648 MPG. That is almost all highway miles, and includes about 3000 miles towing.

My truck is a 2021 3500 SB 4x4 H.O.

1600 miles and 2.5 gallons of DEF?

That's about right. Congratulations you own a Diesel( new school).
