Sunroof Opinions

I am looking for some opinions on sunroofs for the 2500. Not whether you like them, but rather if they are more trouble than their worth (Leaks!), do they take up unnecessary space, do they affect resale, etc.? I personally very rarely use the sunroof on my 1500 Sierra. Of the half dozen times I've used it, it is to let the heat out of the truck after sitting in the sun, but only long enough for the AC to cool down.

I am ordering the truck, so I can do what I want. The easy answer is to not order it since I generally don't use it. But does having it actually hurt anything? Is there something else I can do with that ceiling space that would be more utilitarian, like an overhead console or something like that? I love having space to put stuff, which is why I'm opting for the Mega Cab and Ramboxes. If I can make use of the space by not having the glass, that would be great. Otherwise, I might just get it for the rare occasion I might want to use it.

Thanks

I don't use mine very often either...but had it on 3 of my 4 rams...no leaks or problems in any of them...and I think it's worth it for resale...just my opinion.

Not sure how much space it really takes up as my last two Rams have it and my third will too. I've never had a problem with leaks, and the majority of those trucks' lives were spent in rainy Seattle, non-garaged. IMO, venting the sunroof (not all the way open) and opening the sliding back window is the best way to get fresh air in the truck without feeling like you are in a wind tunnel.

Sun roof does reduce the head room quite a bit. By a few inches. Other than that, it's personal preference.

I won't buy one with a sunroof because I'm 6' 8" and the reduction in headroom is a show stopper for me. But, I think for more normal sized peop,e, a sunroof adds value and most want one. I know it's very tough to find a used truck or a new truck on a lot without one.

I don't use them and they take away from payload, whatever that's worth. Payload police are out in full force these days implying my 2500 with Cummins isn't as capable as a F-150.

I *really * liked the pano sunroof on my 1500... and I've had zero issues with any sunroof I've had on any vehicle.
I opted to not get it on the 2500 due to reduced payload, headroom, and going back to a standard sunroof after the pano is horrible.
