I found this out from my dealer, dealing with a low voltage on my battery. They told me to use this if my truck is going to sit more than a day. I’m not sure why the truck can’t do this on its own.

There is a new feature on 2026 HD Rams called storage mode, available on the voltage screen in the dash cluster. It turns off the telematics and rear seat occupency sensors, and therefore keeping the truck battery from going dead. The remote start from my keyfob doesn’t work either while in storage mode. Passing this information along as it’s pretty buried in the manual.

If your truck is sitting for a day or two, you should not have to use storage mode. Quite frequently I don’t go anywhere during the weekend and my truck sits and doesn’t go anywhere till Monday and fires right up. Sounds like a cop out by the dealer, they have no idea what your problem is or how to correct it. Have you load checked your batteries to make sure you don’t have any issues there?

I have a 2022 RAM 2500 Bighorn. These trucks have electrical issues and the mechanics at the dealers don’t have the capacity to fix them properly. When I have starting issues they just replace the battery. If the engine starts they assume the problem is fixed. I’ve been through 4 batteries and STILL HAVE OCCASIONAL STARTING PROBLEMS!! It’s too a point I had to purchase a jump box to carry with me. Sometimes I’ll go a few weeks and never need it then other times I need the jump box to start the truck several times in a row. It’s an on again off again problem RAM can’t fix or refuses to fix under warranty.

Wowzers I've had my 22 sit for just over 2 full weeks and then start right up, I guess I'm lucky based on what I've been reading...

Yeah sometimes I can let it sit for several days and the battery charge drops to about 63% charged and it cranks right up. Other days it won’t crank with the battery 95% charged. Never know what’s going to happen until I press the start button. I placed a battery monitor on it to watch for any unusual battery draws after I shut it down for the evening.

Never had a problem with mine thankfully, and sometimes the truck sits for a week or two - no problem ever starting back up. Just standard battery replacement last year.

Same, still on the original battery. Truck lives outside.
Apparently I have a LEMON! 35K miles and all the dealer can do is change the battery. I've had electrical issues since day one of ownership. The UCONNECT System randomly changes radio stations, or goes from radio to USB Drive 1 or 2 and cuts out while driving down a perfectly smooth highway. I complained to the dealer and all "RAM CARES" says is to wait for an Over The Air Update. I've been waiting for three years for this UPDATE! The shorts in the UCONNECT System are minor in nature because I can just press a button and get back to my original music source. I'm now on my 4th battery and still the problem exists. I quit going to the dealer because all they can manage is a battery exchange. They have no way of telling me the problem. I purchase batteries locally for way less money and longer warranty. Truck will start flawlessly for about 8-10 starts regardless of battery state of charge, then all of a sudden I just get a click like the battery is dead. Place a Jump Box on the battery and it cranks right over like a new truck. At this point I usually have to Jump Start my truck the next several times, then the problem goes away again. A $65,000.00 truck and It's undependable, I have to carry a Jump Box with me every time I leave the driveway.

I'm not an Electrical Engineer, but I've built and programmed several computers in my lifetime. Debugging programs exists to monitor computer problems and identify the culprit causing the malfunction. These Electrical Engineers are very capable of creating all these fancy electrical gadgets that control most every thing within an automobile to the point they practically drive themselves, but "STILL" can't devise a program to monitor electrical circuits and tell you where a problem exists. Automotive Electrical problems have been around since Henry Ford was a young man and still most mechanics never get the training on diagnosing these issues.

Unless "RAM CARES" can force a dealer to diagnose and repair the problem this will be my FIRST and LAST RAM PURCHASE. I LOVE the truck but I'm not comfortable with the fact I never know when it's going to strand myself and my family

So! RAM CARES! Care to force a dealer to diagnose and repair the problem under my original Bumper to Bumper Warranty since I've complained about electrical issues from the beginning???
