I have a 2022 2500 4x4 with a 4” BDS lift and no one can seem to figure out the steering. No matter if I’m on the highway, side roads, wind, no wind, etc. my steering wheel needs to be cocked left about 10-15 degrees to stay straight.

Alignment shop has looked at it a few times and each time they say everything looks good but agree that the steering wheel is not fully straight. Why is this so difficult on these trucks? I had a F-250 and no issue. Looking for any suggestions or advice. Thanks.

Obviously the lift change something in the orientation of the steering geometry. If the alignment is on, nothing is bent or hooked up wrong after talking to BDS: The easy fix would seem to be to pull the steering wheel and rotate it a couple of notches so it is straight when you are going straight. I would however think that if BDS parts does this on your truck it should do it on all of them and thus be part of the install instructions. If BDS doesn't see this as a common occurrence on installs to your specific make and model I would recheck the entire install process.

You can adjust it with the drag link that goes from the steering box over to the passenger knuckle. If the alignment shop doesn't know how to do that, then I'd find a better shop. That's basic for a alignment with crossover steering.

Does it clock the other way equally if driven (safely) down the opposing lane? If so you’re just fighting crown. If not just loosen the drag link adjusting nut and adjust it/tighten/drive/adjust again till you’re happy with the steering position.

If you are looking down the drag link from the drivers side adjusting the nut counter clockwise will bring the steering wheel farther to the right.

Lift a truck and (I am assuming larger wheels/tires) and she’s just gonna wander more.
