I have two 4.5 gen 3500. The first is a 2019 SO bighorn without all the bells and whistles and it drives great. There is resistance it's a bit more effort to turn the wheel but tracks excellent.
I have a 2024 longhorn HO with the lane assist and all that stuff, it doesn't necessarily feel like excess play but the steering is much easier to turn the wheel and i hate the feel.. feels like i go from side to side of lane more easily to the point i gotta have lane assist on, too soft for my liking. I have gotten used to it but is this a normal side effect of having lane assist feature? feels the same regardless of lane assist on or off

I just delivery of a new 2024 Ram 2500 Laramie and the steering feels light to me. I just came out of a 2023 Ram 1500 and have owned a 2020 1500 and a 2016 3500 long bed. None of these have exhibited this feeling.

I have a 2020 and it was like that . Installed a Thuren track bar and it is much better . Tracks straight with more resistance , a definite improvement about 400 . Buy it after the shop tells you there is nothing wrong . Crap steering is normal !

I have a 2022 3500 with lane assist and the steering feels just right. It tracks well and doesn’t wander.
