Spillover thread related to Build Status Codes

They built mine In no time flat, i was super impressed, then they left it In storage for 6 wks for quality checks. Im all in for quality controle, might be why I've not really had any issues, knock on wood, but 6 wks just sitting there was the worst part for me, as my colleges can attest to my moodiness. o_O

Especially since they held it up because after 12 x they had called me that they couldn't understand to release the truck from storage and get me my voucher, and here I am 6 months later and that fight rages on. Also, honestly in my experience, it was way easier to just chat in with ram care every couple days to find were it was in the process than to bother the dealer trying to get them to pull up the Rubicon pg. The wait and worry is definitly the worst part, hoping it comes out the way you ordered it and then there's the whole hoping it arrives un damaged, because there is no way in he// that an unstable individuall like myself can go through that twice, I'd walk first. :D all in all i really enjoyed the whole process but there were times i felt like i was going insane, but it was all worth it I the end. Now I'm having ptsd flashbacks, i need to go have some apple pie. o_O

Hello everyone, I am new to this site and looking for some info. I ordered a new 2021, 2500 6.4 on 9-4-2020 my dealer gave me a vin but I have tried everything to get some info on my build. I logged into my mopar site as I have a ram 1500 since 2013, tried to add a vehicle to my dashboard with the vin, with no luck. Tried the fcacommunity page and with no luck and tried the ramchat and got a message to contact a dealer for the information. Dealer says since he has a vin everything is ok. I would just like to follow my build. This is my tuck, it says 2020 on this build sheet but it will be a 2021. https://www.ramtrucks.com/bmo.ram_2...P,ARC,AHU,JKV,LHL,BAJ,LNC,GPG,GFA,XMF,UAM,2ZA

Thanks: CARNEYM

Did you get your build sheet (link in first post) and check it against your order?

I placed my order on 12 Aug. On 24 Aug, I received an email from US Customer [email protected] giving me an order number and an estimated delivery of the week of 17 Oct. My dealer has been able to provide with a VIN number, but as of last Thursday Ram Cares says they are still gathering the needed materials and the dealer says it is still in D status. I am unable to retrieve the build sheet, it says the VIN isn't in the system. I do not think the 17 Oct estimation date is going to be met. Ordered a 2020 3500 Laramie SO diesel.

I'm in the exact same boat as you right now. Ordered same date, same engine, same model, different Trim. I'm still in D1 Status as of Saturday and the dealer still says a ship date of 9/25/2020 from Mexico withdDelivery the week of October 18th.

Deep breath guys, we've all been there and it sucks, it sucks bad, being at the mercy of these times is beyond nerve wracking to sway the least. You will definitly not get updates in the detail that we all would like that's for sure. Don't set yourself on that specific date, its an estimate that most of the time isn't met. It would be truly awesome if we could live stream the whole process, In this day in age you would think that's possible. Just know, we've been there and were here for you to vent. Trust me when I say, I've had my share of nervous & mental breakdowns. JUST keep believing it will arrive within 2-3 wks of estimated delivery date and most importantly in undamaged condition, so you don't have to go through this again, i could never of done it twice like some have. Think about all those goodies your gonna get and all the enjoyment of your creation. It's all worth it.

Out of curiosity, has anyone had luck finding their status code any other way than through the dealer? I ordered through a broker, so don't have a direct relationship with the receiving dealer, so have been chatting with Ram Customer Care and they have been good about giving me updates, but they're super high level, and state they don't have access to the specific codes. I'd love to be able to track things a little more closely, but haven't found the right mechanism for doing so yet.

Your accurate on ram customer chat. They pretty much no longer will give you a code per say but give the status. The dealer can give you a code but not really much further info than ram chat, plus your dealer ain't gonna deal with you calling or emailing everyday for an update like ram chat will :D. I found the only benefit to going through dealer was after it had been released and ram care said they can no longer track it, they can but they don't want you jumping the train and stealing it, is the dealer can track it once it's left the factory per the rubicon tracking pg. It's not as informative as one would like but it does give some info . I agree, i wish we had a tracking number where we could follow it step by step
Oh, btw: welcome and better late to the party than to not be at the party at all

There used to be a paid order tracking subscription on 5thgenrams but FCA shut down their access. Don't know any other way than chat, call, or dealer.

Some of the tracking (rail tracking) also got shut down by Homeland Security.

This thread is intended to be a reference sticky for the build status codes with links to the build sheet and window sticker in one easy to find and uncluttered place.

Please carry on conversations about your builds in the Build and Order threads here:

2021 Orders:

2019-2020 builds and orders:

2021 Buyer's Guides:

Build codes.
Unscheduled:
BA
– order entered in system by dealer
BB – fleet order only – review by bid department
BD – special equipment processing
BE – edit error – coding error which must be corrected before order can be scheduled
BG – order has passes edit but cannot be scheduled regardless of sold status
BX – good order available for scheduling

Reason Codes:
F – Finance hold – automatic cancellation after 15 days
B – Model or option build out. Your order exists but isn't fully confirmed yet. Plant doesn't know about it yet. Systems are checking the order to ensure it's valid in terms of sales codes.
L – Material restriction
M – Material hold (fleet)
ZA – canceled order

Scheduled:
C – Tentative schedule. Your order is "subfirm". The plant can see the order at this point but it's not fully committed to building as the supplier may or may not be able to get parts to the plant to build the vehicle.
D – Firm schedule: serial number assigned. Firm order. Your order now has a name instead of a number:
D1 – Gate line: unit sequenced for production, est. ship date assigned.
The date is set for your truck to be built. The plant knows when it should have parts sequenced for building and it should start to be built within 48 hours of the date set.
D2 - It's going to be built. The computers are being programmed, materials are being sequenced, framing is about to occur.

Build:
E – Framing. Metal is welded together to form the body and frame. The body is inspected at the end of this step to ensure it's within tolerances.
F – Paint. The metal is coated, primed, sprayed, clearcoated, polished, inspected, and hand finished if necessary.
G – Trim. The engine is installed in the chassis, the interior is installed, the chassis is mated to the body, the bed is put on. At the end of this, your new vehicle is built.

Built:
I – unit built, pending final inspection. Your vehicle goes through a battery of shakedown tests and measurements are taken to ensure the vehicle looks and performs as expected.
J – Vehicle passed final inspection but not released to carrier
JB – shipped to body vendor. JB/KZP-The vehicle is sent off site to have a spray liner put in, steps, etc.
JE – shipped to emissions
JJ – consigned to body vendor
JS – shipped to storage
KZ – released by plant and invoiced. The truck is ready to be shipped. The dealer is actually charged for the truck. As you all know, this can be a source of delay. Typically you see two statuses here: Awaiting Shipment and "Staged for Shipment".

You can get your (Monroney) window sticker here (add your VIN to the end) once it's KZ-L or KZ-M: https://www.chrysler.com/hostd/windowsticker/getWindowStickerPdf.do?vin=

Traffic Codes:
KZ L – released but not shipped
KZ M – first rail departure
KZ N – first rail arrival
KZ O – delayed/received
KZ OA – plant hold, quality audit
KZ OB – zone, dealer, sales, vehicle prep, tax, diversion or derailment hold, dealer refusal, vehicle diverted
KZ OC – carrier delay, strike-bound, emission or safety hold, rail car shortage, bad or insufficient load, inclement weather, need shipping order, manifest error
KZ OD – mechanical failure, glass damage, vehicle in repair, lacking parts or storage hold
KZ OE – misdropped or misshipped vehicle
KZ OF – shipped air freight, stolen vehicle recovered, show vehicle, test info code, vessel sailed
KZ OG – damaged vehicle, stolen vehicle, abandon to carrier, vehicle scrapped, donate vehicle, repair and auction
KZ OH – all other “O” type carrier codes
KZ T – second rail departure
KZ U – second rail arrival
KZ X – delivered to dealer
KZ Y1 – major damage – must not be sold as new
KZ Y2 – major damage – vehicle sold at auction

KZX - Delivered to your dealer!

Apparently, you can put in your VIN here and they will email you when your build sheet and window sticker is posted.

Thanks! I'll try that

Placed my 2021 3500 order on Feb. 10, 2021. Received an email from FCA stating the truck should arrive the dealer the week of April 18, 2021.

I've done the FCA chat but I'm wondering if there is a website where I can see the status as it progresses through build?

TIA

No, there is not. Check with your dealer.

Good morning, fellow members
I am literally minutes into being a brand new member.
Is there someone who could help me with the negotiating process on a New 2021 Ram 2500 Longhorn Mega Cab or Laramie Mega Cab...my dream truck!
I'm feeling pretty uncomfortable by how vulnerable I feel, and sensing that I'm being had by salespeople who I've spoken to.
Is there anyone who can help me? My hard earned money is precious to me, and don't want to make the mistake by paying too much.
Thank you!

Anytime the response is an email, I pass. Lots of Craigslist postings get this.
