Any idea of availability to add tpms to the spare (or spares) using the factory system. Thinking that a dually can read 6 sensors, that functionality should be baked in and enabled through alfaobd or the likes? Looking at picking up one or 2 spare 37's to ride in the bed. I'd like to have that data available in dash if possible. Lots of aftermarket options, but I don't really want to mount any additional displays in the cab.

you can put a sensor in the spare but it will not read on your dash until it is placed in rotation.
I'm curious about this. Having a sensor in the spare will automatically register once installed into a rotating location? Do these sensors not require some sort of "linking, or pairing" prior to being placed into service?

And what is it within the system that is able to unlink the flat tire and link the new spare one placed into service?

Does the factory spare have a sensor installed? I know on my previous '14 when I changed out a flat tire, the display registered a 0 psi tire in the location of the spare.

I'm asking out of my personal ignorance of the system, and attempting to get a better understanding of the operation. If what you are saying(or what I'm interpreting) is true, then this is an extremely straight forward and simple task to complete. Just seems a bit too easy though.

factory spare does not have a sensor installed. If you put a sensor in the spare and then put it in rotation it will autmatically sync up.
