Shell Rotella rebate started Aug 1

Interesting in that valvoline is a cummins recommend oil.
List of oils on the shelf at the closest walmart that carry the Cummins CES 20086 approval and API CK-4 doughnut. In bold, those with 5w-40 available for the 2019+ rule followers. In italics, those with steep rebates currently available.
  • Supertech, Supertech Full Syn
  • Chevron Delo SDE, XSP 400, and ADF 600 (Delo XSP 5w-40 is good stuff, but not carried by WM)
  • Shell Rotella T4, T5, and T6
  • Mobil Delvac ESP and Extreme
None of the above have the valvoline cummins stamp on the front label, but they all have CES approvals on the back. Doesn't Warren blend the valvoline anyway, and also the supertech?

Below, are those that come with cool amsoil stickers, marketing, diesel bro UCC podium sponsorship, and good feelings, but zero API, CES, Volvo, MB, ACEA, CAT, Allison, Ford, and Mack approvals:
  • Amsoil - All products

Starts out life as a cracked hydrocarbon group 3 so it’s not really a true synthetic. Shell, like many other oil manufacturers, takes advantage of a marketing loophole that exists from a previous lawsuit by use of the term “Full synthetic” even though it’s a conventional base oil.
It's funny that Amsoil spends so much time touting the benefits of full-syn PAO (where they began decades ago) but won't openly disclose if their products are blends, fully group IV, etc. Are you willing to bet your hat that their products don't contain any of this inferior garbage Grp-III+ base that you speak of? Here's a conversation I had with them about their "100% synthetic" ATF:

Pete goes as far as saying that Grp-III+ products can perform the same as "true" fully synthetic Grp-IV. Smoke, mirrors, marketing, etc.

I change my diesel oil under recommended intervals, JMO.
So,
I've decided to give Cummins recommended, Valvoline Blue Extreme Heavy Duty 5w-40 a go, after finding comparable pricing to Shell Rotella T6 10W-30.
(good oil btw)
No dog in an oil debate. YMMV..

Thanks for the link.
Been running T6 in 5 motorcycles for almost 20 years. 2 of those motorcycles are my track bikes that are turning harder and faster lap after lap near redline @ over 10,000 RPM's. T6 is very popular with motorcycle riders with lots of blackstone lab reports showing how well the oil holds up.

Apples to bananas compared to trucks but still never seen or had an issue.

I have never changed the oil in my 2500, wife works for a service shop and just drives it to work and they take care of it, same for her 6.4L Challenger she orders the oil and filter needed and all is done.
