Setting to show current gear?

In my 5th gen 1500 there was a setting to show the current gear the truck was in. It would display right next the drive selector (PRND) in the instrument cluster. It doesn't seem like this setting is available on the my power wagon without using the gear limiter buttons on the steering wheel.
Can anyone confirm?

You are correct. There's a way to hack it in, and it's been discussed over here:

My Rebel had the option to always show what gear the truck was in right next to PRND on the right hand side. I could not find an option in the setup menu. Is there another way or is this not available in the 2500's ? mod: solution in post #49...

@AnthonyD1978 ...send your VIN to @RamCares and let them know you can't enable the gear setting as outlined in the manual...
And spoiler.. the 'hack' is buying the AlfaOBD....

I've done coding on other cars. Don't want to get into that with the truck. Sending the VIN to @RamCares is just to encourage them?

No, they specifically requested that we contact them and send them the VIN so they can try to work something from their end.

I did it with AlfaOBD. Took about 3 minutes at most. Didn't want to wait for Ram Cares who may end up providing nothing.

I'm certainly not going to spend money just so I can see the gear I'm in...
*I* (and likely most people) don't have a need for an AflaOBD...

Send them a message with your VIN and that you can't select the Gear Indicator option in the display as outlined in the Owner's Manual.
