I have to head out of town next month for six weeks. My driveway is in 100% direct sunlight from dawn to dusk and the landscapers who cit my lawn when I travel blow grass and crap all over the place, they also run the mowers with the chutes open (nothing I can do about that).
So I have never put a car cover on any of my trucks but I am thinking about getting one now. The ones I am looking at are meant to be used out doors, are fitted for the truck, have a soft fleece lining and are breathable. My questions are

Is there any downside on putting a fitted cover on the truck for six weeks
those who have done/doing it do you have any recommendations or ones to stay away from
Any general thoughts about my approach

The neighbor across the street used one this past winter on his black Alfa Romeo and discovered that it had left fine spider web like scratches on his clear coat. Almost like an auto car wash rolling scrub brushes.

You'll end up with a ton of scratches no matter what you do. Easily fixed with a gentle polish, but still.

Leave it naked it will be perfectly fine and actually better than under a cover unless the lawn has gravel in it you don't have to worry about the grass clippings from an open chute even then a cover wont help anyway

Thanks for all the feedback. Deep-down I had all the same concerns, I think I was just hoping I was wrong. I have the WeatherTec sunshades that I will put in the windows and just leave it in the driveway
