seat differences

I'm getting real close to ordering a new truck to replace my '11 1500 Outdoorsman. I'm moving up to a 3/4 ton and haven't decided if I'm sticking with RAM or going with a Ford. Over the past 6 months or so I've driven 3 different 2500s. The seats have felt different in each one. For context I'm 6ft, 290lbs and think the bench seats in my truck are amazing, even after 215,000 miles. The first was a '21 Big Horn. I can't remember if it was the console or bench seats. The side bolsters on the seat were too high, firm, or close together(not sure which one). I really felt the pressure on the outside of my thighs. I drove a '22 Big Horn with bench seats this fall and really liked those. Yesterday I drove a Laramie with a console and the seats seemed flat. I could probably be ok with that, but the deal breaker was the seat was higher. I really couldn't see anything out of the middle of the windshield. If I was a t a 4-way stop I wouldn't have a clue if there was a car on my right. I normally have to put my head down to see, but I had to lean forward on this one. I have driven a '22 F250 XLT and liked the seats in that.
Finally getting to my question, has anyone else had this experience while driving different trucks? Is this just the normal difference between the bench and console seats, or between the cloth and leather seats? With only 1 of the 3 trucks I've driven having a seat I would be comfortable with, it's really making me lean toward a Ford.

Ford seats are the worst, also the larimine seats should adjust up and down so someone must have adjusted it up higher

I adjusted it. Repeatedly. Although i can't say if i actually raised up the back and tried to lower it down to make sure the down was working. I know the front went up and down.

My work truck is an f250, my personal truck is a 2020 Ram 2500 tradesman. I purchased my Ram 625 miles away in the Dallas area. flew into Dallas to pick it up and drove home. Only time I stopped was for gas and/or restroom break. No complaints about the seats. When I got home no stiffness or soreness at all, I do have lower back issues from an injury suffered when I was fighting fires/saving lives for a living.
At my current job, My work truck is a different story, if I am in it for an hour or more I feel like an old man, lots of stiffness and soreness in my lower back.
This just added to the many reasons I opted out of a blue oval vehicle. A big reason was the dog of a motor in the 6.2 gasser that is in my work truck. Doesn't come close to the 6.4 in my ram

I'm not going to try and talk you into or out of any brand, as ultimately you have to make your own decision, but I'm 6'4" and my Laramie seats work perfect for me. If you had issues seeing out the window it sure sounds like someone had messed with the seat.

'22 Bighorn here and I'd agree with the seat height. I'm 6' tall and I wish the seat would go about 3-4" lower in my truck. I'm slowly getting used to it, but coming out of an '18 Silverado, it was definitely a big adjustment.

'20 Bighorn sport/offroad, I'm 6'4" 230 and find the seats comfortable. It did take me a little bit of experimenting to find the best combo of height and tilt

I find the bench seats in the tradesman models to fit "just right". The big horn buckets are comfortable but the seating position is not as natural to me. If the steering wheel would telescope, like it does in the 1500, that would really help.

In regards to not being able to see out the windshield. I don't think it has to do with seat height. I think it has to do with all the hardware behind the rearview mirror on the higher-optioned trucks. Some of the Laramies and Limiteds have a huge plastic shroud that extends over a large portion of the upper windshield.

True.

The FCW equipped trucks have a giant camera/mirror housing. The 5th gen cabs are smaller.

One thing I noticed on the interior shots of the 2023 with the 12" all digital EVIC was a smaller mirror housing - unless the new HD "Rebel" had a poverty mirror.
