What scanner are you guys using in the price range of $150 or less? I’m wanting one that uses the iPhone for Bluetooth or a self contained type for my 2018 Cummins powered Ram.
I’m looking for a bidirectional one, not just a code reader and as I said if it isn’t the type that plugs into the OBD port and has its own screen, it needs to work with an iPhone.

AlfaOBD is the way to go for dealer level bidirectional diagnostics and feature programming. Just used it last weekend on my buddies truck to set his new tire size and change the TPMS warning thresholds. Makes a big difference not running 80 psi in the rear. The app cost $50 for a lifetime license. It connects to a BT dongle. I use the OBDLink MX+ OBD2 for $140, but you might find cheaper options out there. You can use that dongle with many other free code scanner/data streaming apps. But the real magic for Stellantis vehicles is in AlfaOBD. Just a heads up 2018+ requires the security bypass that I'm not too familiar with, as I have a 2014.

He said if it’s an app, it needs to work on iPhone, so alfaobd is out. JScan is just as capable as alfaobd and works on iPhone.

Ahh that's too bad, Alfa is awesome. Forgot its not available on iPhone. From what I understand Alfa is a bit more powerful and in depth, but for the vast majority of users JScan is way more than enough.
