Texasram1 and other members,

Texas sorry to highjack your post, but you have a pic. So my 2022 Ram HD Laramie started this as well about a week ago. Two things I noticed, my sat radio works fine in the morning. Yep, not kidding. And second, that new icon at the top of the screen, just to the left of “playing”. Having pressed said icon, it is a shopping, games, geocache….if I recall correctly. Until this week, I have never seen this anywhere with in the info system.

There are numerous posts on Reddit ram_trucks
All 22’s, HD 25/35, Laramie/Limited from the posts I saw.

For giggles last eight of vin NG121141.

2022 3500 Limited here and getting the exact same symptoms. Started last week, SiriusXM channels fail to play about 8 out of 10 trips so far. Reset does work across maybe 1-2 restarts but then back to the screen of death. Also seeing randomly some channels are not available and album artwork is randomly missing even when it does work. If I recall the UConnect did an update about the time it stopped working as new icons showed up that I had never seen before. Sure its all related, probably bad firmware for a particular satellite module or something.

Did you see the icon on the screen near the “playing” menu? Not there in your pic, Taexasram1 has it, and I have seen it on mine.

Having this issue as well. Just took my truck in for a safety recall and let the tech know about this radio issue. He said there is no software fix for this problem yet, but he did say there will be an update in the fall. Hopefully there will be a release that fixes this sooner!

I now have that new button at the top of my screen too. If I click on it, it takes me to a menu where I can access games, etc. My software must have updated. I also have a loss in signal on a regular basis.

I got into my truck this morning and my Sirius actually worked without a reset, but defaulted to that free channel. Got in this evening to drive home and the screen of death was back saying Satellite Hardware Error. I plan on reaching out to Ram on Friday. Something is off with this new update. Sirius isn’t cheap! Can’t justify paying for a service that doesn’t work 90% of the time, unless I have to reset the darn radio.

Thanks for tagging Ram Cares. I couldn’t remember how to do it. Maybe they will have some insight to this mess.
 
Happened again; mostly fine driving the kiddos to daycare, although it did default to ch 1.
Turned truck off for drop off. Upon firing it back up to return home the satellite was bricked. Had to soft reset.
 
FWIW I’ve noticed that my aux switches that should remember that they were “on” no longer do.

How could such a half baked update get pushed out? Uconnect has been a turd since ive had this truck.

had this happen several times.. i did a factory reset of all the infotainment/settings (not just the radio) and no issues for 5 days since

i noticed the APP market icon show up, that i had not seen before, maybe it was a XM upgrade/feature that triggered it?

Maybe a hard reset is all that is needed. Please let us know if it comes back. Thanks!
 
Well, did a full factory reset and it may have fixed the problem. Been in and out of the truck several times today and each time Sirius has worked. Pain in the rear having to change all my personalized settings back and add my favorites, but well worth it in the end. Guess we will see if it holds!
 
Well, it’s definitely not the radio software, since 26.17 has been out for about a year and a half, and there’s 3 newer versions than that. Someone on another forum is getting the same error and new app with 27.46, which is the newest but still been out for 6 months. And yet another person with the same error with S21D.5, which is a really old version.
So either Sirius pushed something to make these things happen, or the telematics box did. I don’t have the telematics box, and I don’t subscribe to Sirius, so I don’t have either of these things happening with version 27.46.

I’d say just suck it up and perform the factory reset to see if the error stays gone.
 
I did the factory reset on mine lasted two days and it was back. I mite have to reset it again see what happens suck having to set it all up again.
