I have a 7 pin plug in the bed of my truck along with the bumper mounted plug. The bumper plug works but in bed does not. I read that only one plug can be powered at a time. How do you switch from one to the other? 2022 Ram 2500 Tradesmen. Thanks.

Both are always connected. Plug the trailer into one of the other. Are you using the SAE spec plug on the trailer end?

I had the same issue but found that the wireing harness behind the plug was not plugged into it.

The bumper plug works so I know its not the plug. Truck is new taking on its maiden voyage with the 5th wheel this week. Someone posted on here that only one plug can be powered at one time and you need to do something to power the other plug?

Where exactly was the connection? I even removed the spare and could not see anything out of place. Hope that's all it is, will be impossible to get to a dealer before we leave.

It was right behind the plug in the bed. Had to remove it to get it plugged back in

That is for the camera plug. The 7-pin should be live in both all the time.

Look for a loose connection on the plug itself and then follow the wiring and look for more connections.

Have you verified with a multimeter that none of the wires work?

Yes, used a muti meter. Gonna remove the plug this afternoon and double check the connections. Thanks to everyone for the informative tips.
