rust on flywheel?

Hi cummins group! It's our first diesel engine, so I'm wondering if it's normal for rust to be on flywheel at 1400 miles on odometer? IMG_1443.jpeg
 
That looks like the Harmonic balancer. And that's just surface rust. No big deal. You can wash it off with a green scrub pad.
 
Flywheel is on the opposite side of the engine if you had a standard, we have flexplates
