Can anyone with the retractable running boards and a MegaCab chime in on how far back they extend on the 2500? I was looking at picking up a side step for both the driver and passenger sides, but thought maybe the boards extended back far enough to be used for bed access as well.

Cannot comment on how far the steps extend but beware of the retractable steps. I know Amp Research and RBP both have an issue with the front mounted driver's side motor on the electric steps hitting the frame mounted vibration dampener. Currently emailing with RBP on a fix for this and they are working on it. I do not know if Amp has resolved the issue.

kinda along this topic, AMP Research said yesterday that their about three to four weeks out getting all the testing done to start manufacturing their rear bumper step for the 2019 HD

Thanks, though I should have been more clear. I am already getting the factory retractable boards as part of the Limited package, so now I am just trying to determine if I need an aftermarket side step, or if the boards will be long enough to utilize as such.

Interesting. The rear bumper stem is what I currently have in my cart based on the filter on Amp's website. I do see in the description though that is for up to 2018 trucks, or the 2019 1500. I'm glad you posted this so I do not order the wrong thing.

Can't believe these accessories are so far behind. Husky is still in the process of releasing their X-Act front liners and mud guards. According to their chat system, they are still 2 - 3 weeks away from availability.

I can't speak for the mega cab, but on my crew cab, they are not long enough for bed access. They are exactly as long as the cab, no longer.
