I had a Rough Country bed mat in my '22 with the 6'-4" bed. I had to go with a different brand on my '24 with the 8' bed since RC doesn't make an 8'. Really can't tell a difference in construction. I put them in all my trucks as an added layer of protection. Both fit great.
I have a 1" x 8' horse stall mat that I pulled out of my 98 before it sold. It's like new, saves my knees and protects the liner and bed. It's heavy, which helped the ride in my 98.5, gen 2 a little.
Thank you guys. I have been pondering on the Rough Country mat but they don't have the best quality in their lift parts. At Wife said buy a horse mat and cut it to fit. A 5x8 horse mat is about 300.00 and some time to cut it to fit.
I have a Gator brand bed mat. It works great and fits the bed perfectly. None of my camping stuff slides around and is thick enough to be comfortable to kneel on. I installed it a year ago and my only minor complaint is it still smells.
I pulled mine out this past weekend to clean under it and there was only a little trash around the edges. This was after several trips to the landfill with chipped concrete, scrap lumber and shingles. Moisture doesn't seem to be an issue at all.
My Gator mat has hundreds of dimples on the bottom so it leaves room for draining if the bed gets wet. And it's cut and sized so it doesn't block the bed's drain holes.
