I posted this in wheels/tires and have had a number of looks but no replies. How do you remove the center hub from the 18" steel clad chrome rimes. I do not want to break anything and there is nothing in the owners manual. I tried pulling on them but they did not budge.

Are you referring to the "hub cap"? There are notches in the bottom in two locations directly across from each other. Just feel around and you will find them. Insert a screwdriver and pry up.

Yes, that's what I am talking about. I saw on youtube that someone ruined a cap trying to remove it the wrong way. I will give that a shot. Thanks and I did see those two slots.

There is no need to manhandle it. I would wrap the tip of the screwdriver (where it will contact the slot ) with a rag or piece of cloth to prevent flattening off the edges.

I just went out and tried it with a large flat head screwdriver and was tentative at first but once I put a little pressure behind it, it released. Thanks for the help!

On my 2020 3500 I had my front cap off today to remove the wheel for a mudflap install. When I tried to put it back on, the cap bottoms out on the wheel before the plastic clips even begin to try and hold it. What am I doing wrong?

Make sure the bolts aren’t getting between the circular clipping mechanisms?

On the inside of the cap there are 8 circular protrusions with 4 fingers on the ends. Make sure they centered over the lug nuts. Those 4 fingers clip on the lugnuts.

As long as those lugs are in the middle of the circles and you give them a good push they should clip on.

Thanks y'all. I feel so stupid, was trying to do it as it was getting dark and was certain I had the lugs lined up. I took a flashlight out there so I could see what I was doing and got it back on.
