Has anyone done a red letter delete on their Ram 2500 (Heavy Duty on the hood and Turbo Diesel on the sides)? I like having the badges but on my Patriot Blue Pearl with Night Edition I really like the blue on black look and the red just sticks out too much for me. Wasn't sure if there was some sort of vinyl overlay for these or not since the letters are so small. Any help is appreciated!

I hope it doesn't have adhesive. the factory ones don't.

delivering tomorrow, will post some pics.

I was talking about the Cummins badge lower on the fender has adhesive. How does the 2500 Heavy Duty badge come out? Are there screws under the hood or something? Honestly got my truck on Monday and it has set parked since due to kids with Covid so besides looking at the outside a few times and ordering parts, I haven't done too much searching yet.

You could probably paint or wrap the Cummins badges to get that effect. There are also a dozen options on Amazon (link to one) but I'm not sure that any of them are OEM.

I’m pretty sure the new ones have adhesive foam on them that’s the fix for keeping the water out of the hood, I believe. I think mine had foam on them when I replaced them with black edition ones

I'm thinking about plasti dipping the cummins badges on the sides of the truck with black plasti dip. I've seen a few videos online of people doing it for emblems on other vehicles. Anyone else tried that? Figured that worse case I just peal the plasti dip off and have the stock emblem underneath. Just wondering how long it would last on the emblems considering I take my truck through a non-touchless carwash sometimes a couple times a week (monthly unlimited carwash subscription)...

In my experience, Plasti dip/ hyper dip works great and holds up great and lasts 1-2 years before you probably want to re-do it. Holds up fine to washes even pressure washer assuming you’re doing it lightly with lower psi household washer and not crazy commercial washer.

I re-did my grille and all the front after about 18 months, it had a few rock chips and was worn where the hood rubbed (normally hidden area) my rear bumper still looked fine after 27 months but I wanted to switch ti satin hyperdip from the more flat plastidip look.

Good to know. This would be the emblems on the front quarter panels (Cummins badge) so the brushes that spin and clean the side of the truck would be beating on it. Might still try it since it is a cheap and easy option. A friend's dad paints vehicles now that he is retired so I might also see if he could spray them with actual paint for more permanent solution.

If you take your truck through an automatic car wash I think the paint on your emblems is the least of your concern

fwiw, I've used the dip on many occasions. I found it to stand up very well.
Yes, I have used it on grilles, wheels, emblems, etc I've never had it fail. Clean and dry surface, light coats to build up and it holds up. There is a wheel cleaner for dipped wheels that works amazingly, I was going to link it for @Rockcrawlerdude on his bumper re-do for next time but I can't find it now. Gives the regular dip more of the sheen you get with the hyperdip.
