Nothing is like the old days. You can't throw on a K&N Filter and get HP. You can't just throw speakers on it and expect it to be better.
I learned that a few years back. Replacing the door speakers will gain you a clear, less muddy sound, but you do lose pretty much all your bass.
I am a total audio guy. I have been since I was 16. For every vehicle I've owned, I've had to throw a system in. I like my music to sound good. Loud when I hear a good song. Not bass - cracking window type stuff. I listen to all sorts of music,
So when I had my Power Wagon, I went all out. I just got this 2022 Ram 2500 CTD and I was able to remove everything from my old truck.. I plan on putting it in this truck when it cools off.
I will say, if you guys want a simple upgrade - try just the dash speakers first. Those make a huge difference alone on the sound.
