Dealers have the software to fix the trucks, they fixed my truck as soon as it came to the lot. I was able to pick it up the same day.
Some people are obviously getting the recall fixed with just an software update… I’d push back a bit and ask them to do that first.I talked to my dealer and they said the part needed to complete the recall is on backorder for 2 months.....I pull up my vin and it tells me the part is available and is a software update. I mentioned to the service writer it was just a software update and he said no they need to replace the control module.......and those are on backorder.....
I think I am just going to wait and see if they ever call me back. Some people are obviously getting the recall fixed with just an software update… I’d push back a bit and ask them to do that first.

good point and probably a good idea.I think the dealer is just being safe about it and letting you know that they don’t have the parts because if they do the software update and it doesn’t take and they get the module in boot loop then they need a module to replace it or you would be out a truck to drive until parts come in. So better to wait until parts are on hand to have the software update done. Just my thoughts.
It's only a software update...not sure what the service guys are doing...
That's probably not a software problem...that's most likely a dealer programming issue. Can happen with ANY update they perform. Updating a line or two in code to turn on Mister Squiggles...doesn't magically cause an issue with programming. When I pickup my truck they where able to update it but they had 2 power wagons on the lot and they where able to update one but the other one didn’t take the update and the GM said they had to wait until the parts came in to replace the module before they can sale it. So if you go take it in for the update and take the chance. Not sure what will happen.
It usually happens when a tech does not put it on the charger and it falls below the ideal voltageThat's probably not a software problem...that's most likely a dealer programming issue. They are still shipping them just dealers cant release themThis should be troubling for everyone that have their newly built recalled trucks stuck in Mexico. You’ll ge them when you get them, after they rot on a lot in Mexico.

There are many, like me, who’s truck is “on hold” in Mexico due to the recall.Yes they can. They updated my truck and I picked it up same day it came in.
