I have spent an embarrassing amount of time over the last few weeks researching 2500’s. I finally picked out one that I thought would be right for me, haggled with the dealer a bit, and agreed on a price that would get me to make the drive. And now here I sit… Nobody can sell any of the trucks affected by the recall. And unfortunately, it does not sound like things are being properly communicated to the dealers’ service departments as to what the fix is and how long it should take. Does anyone on here work for a dealership and might possibly have a bit more insight into how and when a remedy will become available?

Thanks in advance!

A few 23 owners on here have had the stalk replaced, mostly because activating the turn signal turned on the high beams. Seems like it was a problematic batch.

Mine doesn’t activate the high beams, but does occasionally activate the opposite side turn signal when one side cancels.

Mine does this. Anytime it cancels the right turn signal it will turn on the left briefly (2-3 seconds).

I just recently picked up my truck. Lucky my built date is two days after the build end date for the recall. I hope I missed it.

What are the build dates for the recall? I can’t find that info. Thanks

Not sure. I don't remember. I just clicked on a link for the recall and saw it. Sorry I can't be more help.

I decided that I should provide an update. I received a call from the dealer the morning of Thursday, December 14th that the truck I was looking at had been inspected and had passed the inspection. I headed up to what turned out to be the most pleasant dealership experience that I have encountered in decades, and drove away in my new billet silver 2023 crew cab Laramie less than 2 hours after I arrived. (This includes a solid 45 minute solo test drive and inspection) I bought it for $13k under MSRP, and they gave me $2k more for my ’19 1500 Laramie than other dealers had offered. Truxedo X15 is already on, while Go Rhinos RB20’s and RokBlokz should be here by Wednesday. Thanks to this forum, I have already used AlfaOBD to turn on current gear, fogs with brights, and killed the annoying low tire pressure light that they had set to 70psi! (Brought it down to 50, but might go even lower for the warning) Thanks all!

I recently made a post in the Problems/TSB forum about my 5 month fight to get my malfunctioning Steering Column Control Module (SCCM) replaced. I thought the B2A safety recall "Malfunctioning SCCM" would be a guaranteed resolution, but it definitely hasn't been so far. It's actually made it more difficult and has given the dealership an excuse to tell me they can't do anything further -- although they have acknowledge that they have observed a SCCM related malfunction.

Where in Alfa was the current gear function. I use Jscan, but couldn't find the module where current gear was located. It was one of my favorite features in the gladiator and Rebel that I don't seem to have in the 23 power wagon.

In AlfaOBD

Car configuration change: ECUConfig 4-Actual Gear Display: Yes

Once you have that done, then you have to go back to your settings in your dash (EVIC) and turn it on. You do that using the buttons on the left side of your steering wheel. It will be the one that says “Current Gear.” Push the arrow to the right to select that, choose “On,” and then hit the left arrow two times to exit the setup.

Well, I guess I didn't miss the recall after all. I got the recall letter in the mail today. :(

I’ve received the recall letter but don’t appear to have the problem it describes. There have been times when I activate the lane change indicator and only get one flash though that may be the nut loose on the stalk (operator error) since it works as intended when reactivated.
Don’t see any point taking it in if there is no problem present.
