Rebel 2500 cummins on-road ride as compared to Laramie/Limited (or NON PW models)?

I was seriously considering a new Rebel 2500, but it's been hard to find definitive information regarding the differences in suspension between a regular Laramie or Limited. I thought, outside of the LSD and lockers on the rear and different shocks, the rest were mostly cosmetics. I figured it would ride pretty similar to the standard non-pw models and am trying to do research because there's none within 150 miles of me to test drive. If anything, I thought on-road/highway might be even smoother than a standard suspension. Some reviews/youtube say its the worst riding 2500, some say it's the best. I'd be pairing this with the auto leveling suspension.

Curious to hear anyone's thoughts who has driven both or compared them? I found this thread which didn't look too promising: http://hdrams.com/forum/threads/brand-new-rebel-shake.21395/

This video also implies it's pretty terrible on-road:

This guy also implies the Blisteins make for terrible on-road characteristics :

I have a 2020 Ram 2500 with the coil spring rear suspension and it’s the best riding rear suspension I’ve ever had on a 3/4ton / 1 ton pickup period.

I would like to try a 2500 with the air ride rear suspension but I have heard they ride better.

I do wish people would not compare 1/2tons and HD pickups as the two are completely different capability wise.

I have a 2025 Rebel. I switched my shocks to the Fox 2.5 HTO as well as the Thuren track bar, sway bar, and rear end links. Rides pretty nice to me. It wasn't terrible before but the upgrades certainly refined it. I drive it everyday to work (70 miles round trip), as well as its our family road trip vehicle. I like my Rebel and would buy again.

Yeah man, I’d get off the internet and just find a way to drive one. No two people are gonna agree on ride “quality”.

Seat of the pants trumps YouTube experts.

I located one about 75 miles away that I may try and go drive this weekend. It also has the factory air rear suspension, which is also what I'm looking for.

I'm not sure why anyone would say the Billsteins provide a worse on road ride? I have a 2019 with the Off road package and Billsteins and its not bad at all on road. I love that RAM is the only mfg with a 3/4 ton with a coil rear. That's one of the reasons I got it.

Dealer lot trucks (hell even after PDI) are also notorious for having too much air pressure. Running empty they need to be lowered. Granted that's gonna set of TPMS alerts.

What Brutal said...My 2024 Laramie rode pretty stiff. When I got it home I checked the pressures and all tires were at 80+PSI. Once I lowered it to 60 front and 65 rear the ride smoothed out and wasn't so jarring.

I'm going to go test drive a Rebel and a Limited back to back this weekend, both with the auto leveling suspension. If the sales guy allows me to do so, I'd like to deflate the tires to what people are running on theirs. Any suggestions on what is a good PSI on the 20 inch wheels to test with ?

Tire pressure is a factor i only tow 5 to 6,000# camper and my tradesman has a 6.4 Hemi i put 17” AEV wheels and 35” tires set at 45# front and back it rides as good as a 3/4 ton could. So whatever you get you could always make some adjustments to ride a little better. I carry a good portable compressor and hose if i needed to air up more for a heavier load.

That is actually insane on a pickup.

Probably rode like it had granite wheels from the Stone Age.
Iam sure it did, I made the sales guy take it in the back to get the proper air pressures before I drove it.

In the test drive the sales guy mentioned it rode much better than it did when it had been test driven earlier in the week .

Any new Ram I always check the TPMS screen before any test drive lol.
