Rear wheel well liners

i wish they went down further mine got them from factory but i am thinking about trying to add a piece to bring them down like the older trucks had them

Those Rough Country"s are really nice and deep. They are perfect for the 3500 because they lay flat against the frame. The 2500's not so much due to the bow in the frame for the shock placement.
Only trouble is their quality control is not so great, so you will likely have to do some trimming around the edges and especially near the rear end of the leaf spring as it does not clear it. But after seeing the oem, I like that the coverage is more extensive.

Way more coverage like the 2nd and 3rd gens used to have seeing my oem liners it made me think there was none

I'll be installing BW gooseneck hitch and air ride bags when my truck arrives.
Anyone tackle that one yet?
I'll have to cut a notch for the ball locking lever on the hitch, what about the air bags?
Any mods required to the liners?
I hate cutting on new stuff.

Does anybody know if this is true or not? I just ordered a Laramie and I did not see adding these as a option, I agree they should come standard on all of them.
They are standard equipment on the upper trim levels. Laramie, Longhorn and the limited.

I’ve been watching this thread and another about fender flares.

Has anybody installed both the liner and the OEM flare? Are there any lessons learned?

Ultimately I would like to cross the finish line with OEM liners, OEM flares, and suitable mud flaps.

The part numbers are 68453298AA, 68453299AA.
When you remove the existing front and rear halves you will notice on the rear one that there is a backing bracket attached to it. You need to save it to reinstall with the new liners. It supports the rear end of them. They are heat bonded together and are easy to separate with a large screwdriver or some other pry tool.
Look at the bracket itself and you will see circular indentations with studs protruding thru. That is where they are bonded together and you need to get in between with the pry tool and just twist them apart.
Thank you for this helpful insight!

I don't recall having to remove and separate the rear existing halves. From what I remember they stayed together and were reused and attached to the new liners.
At least that's the way I attached mine.

I also have a 2020 BigHorn that came with the full liners that I used as reference when I installed them on my Tradesman. The half liners were not attached behind the full liners from the factory . That is why I separated the half splash guard and removed it leaving just the backing bracket.
The first shot is after I put in the full liners on the Tradesman. Note the jagged holes from being separated from the half splash guard.
The bottom shot is the full liners from the factory.

I’ll be doing another install soon since I’m trading my 2500 in on a 2021 Bighorn 3500 HO “on the train”, it doesn’t have them either.
Heck a little weight savings without although it does look a little more finished underneath with them lol

I installed OEM rear fender liners along with the Mopar off-road fender flares around a month ago and am so happy I did. The liners do a great job of filling up that area and protecting from stone chips, rust, etc.

@b307a1 - I also separated the two rear plastic splash guard pieces just as you did in your photos above. Worked perfect!

I just did it the same way the boys at the factory do it.

You sure keep that clean. What do you keep it garaged and only roll it out to take pics of it?

I'm sure that will change once AEV gets done with it. That has me really excited to see it because I'm pretty sure they haven't done many Prospector builds on Regular cabs.
