Rear sliding window

So far, so good. Truck is only four and a half months old though. I typically use it in conjunction w/the a/c for about 2-3 mins to get the heat out of the black interior car, do the same w/the tilt roof. Who knows if that is really helping. I have been lucky so far I think, I read these forums and it is scary!!! Read one yesterday about the weather strip between the bed and cab rusting out the cab and another about how my 6.4 shouldn’t be making the engine rattle noise on start up...honestly been doing that since day one, so I thought/think it is normal, oil seems to be fine, who knows...but man, you people are scaring this first-time Ram owner after finally parting ways w/my F-150 after 17 years.

Weather strip between the bed and cab? Must be someone with a camper shell on the back of their truck. If that’s the case, the bed and cab move differently so if a hard piece of rubber is rubbing up against the paint it will ALWAYS wear the paint away. That’s no fault of the manufacturer.

Don’t let all these issues or people scare you away from a great truck. Every new vehicle these days no matter which brand you go with has issues. Every brand’s forums are full with people complaining about one thing or another. But the one thing that’s consistent across all brands is that a lot of the issues people are having are software related. And every year they add more electronic crap in these vehicles which means the software bugs aren’t leaving anytime soon. Congrats on your new truck, I’m on my 4th Dodge / Ram truck myself. I’ve had my 2019 since the last week of September and the only issue that I’ve had so far was the hood flutter, it was fixed by the dealership and all has been fine since. I’ve got 11,000 miles on mine to date.

Nice! The weather strip is actually at the base of the bed/cab, runs the length of the frame rails. It covers the gas tank and fuel pump I believe. You can see it if you crawl underneath or shine a light down between the bed/cab, the little gap. It is there...just checked mine two days ago.

Anyone having trouble with their electronic rear sliding window? Mine opens but has trouble closing. I noticed it was getting hung up and now you have to help it to get it closed. Maybe a little lube on the tracks?
I tried my slider yesterday, seems to be working fine. I admit I haven't really exercised it much though. I'm in FL and it's hotter than hell so I'm not going to use the slider much anyway.

My 2018 had this same issue took it in and they greased the track and it worked fine since. I would guess the same can be said in the case of the OP. I also would not use some lubrications on it, let the dealer do it so that it’s documented should there ever be another issue they will see that there is a history of window issues.

Brutal both are great products

Finally tried mine yesterday, worked great and its my new favorite option. Really cuts down the noise and turbulence in cab with windows down.

Sil-Glyde is another old stand-by product that can be used on weatherstripping, etc.
