Anyone having trouble with their electronic rear sliding window? Mine opens but has trouble closing. I noticed it was getting hung up and now you have to help it to get it closed. Maybe a little lube on the tracks?

Hi @BigBlack,

We certainly understand why this would be concerning! If you're not able to determine a solution based on suggestions from fellow forum members and you decide to address this with your dealer, please let us know via private message. We would be more than happy to provide you with an additional layer of assistance for that process.

mine is slow to close about half the time. don't use it that often, but have noticed it.

You can pick up a can of CRC PTFE dry lube spray at any Napa or probably other parts stores or order from Amazon.

It's like Frank's RedHot, I use that sh*t on everything (that doesn't need Lithium or grease).

Just to find out...what do you use it for? Long time ago I learned that it works perfect as a vacuum for your bed dust when driving to thoroughly fill the cab. What other more productive uses are there? I see a camper...is that it?

I didn't have the camper on yesterday. It was nice out and I was driving home and didn't want to use the AC or have the side windows down. My truck isn't my daily driver but a 4runner is and the back window goes down which I use quite a bit so I tried out the trucks back window.

Mine has been working fine. Haven't had it open much lately, but it did work a week or so back.

As for it necessity I spec'd that option when I ordered my first truck, a '95 Dakota regular cab, and swore I'd never be without one in any successive trucks. All of mine since had it. My bed is covered most of the time, and as @dtsequeira mentioned it is great when it's that time where it's hot enough for windows down, but not too hot and humid that it requires A/C. Even if I just crack the driver's and sometime passenger's front window, open the rear a bit, and it really moves the air around.

My dogs are obsessed with looking out the slider at all the drivers behind us, so it gets used multiple times a day. No issues.

use mine quite a bit when I have the front window down or the sun roof vent open cuts back the wind . never have had a issue with it.

Open the front windows a little bit then the slider, say goodbye to farts.

Mine does the exact same thing, since day one! In fact, I rarely use it because I’m scared that it won’t close. It’s on my list for first dealer trip.
