I’m planning to order a Thuren 2.25” kit for my 3500 when it comes in. Truck will be brand new when I level it. Debating on not ordering the rear shocks for it since shocks will still be new.

Did replacing just the shocks make a difference in ride feeling? Or should I save the $400 and wait til the stock shocks have some miles on them?

the best handling upgrade you can do to these trucks is replacing the sway bar unless you like getting thrown to the side when going over the slightest offset bump

I just put the 1.75 Thuren springs/track bar on the front and replaced all four corners with their Bilsteins since it will primarily be my tow pig. OE shocks had about 2500 miles on them so basically new. Not sure if I can tell the difference or not, although it might be because the front is so much better it steals all the thunder from the rear. I think the damping is probably better though because I take it on the beach and when I had OE shocks, I'd get a little rear end bounce/shudder when I was taking off and haven't noticed it with the new shocks.

I can use the rear shock money and get the new sway bar then

I did the same, Thuren coils and track bar with front shocks only. Truck rides so much better with the Thuren coils and Fox 2.0's.
Since I can't leave things alone, I was constantly looking at the rear shocks and it was driving me crazy to leave those stock. Finally pulled the trigger on Fox 2.5's for the rear. I haven't driven it with the rears yet, but they sure look great. LOL!
Now I realize that I screwed myself though... 2.0's up front and 2.5's in the rear is going to drive me crazy as well. DAMMIT, now I'm going to keep looking at 2.5's for the front. It never ends!

I have a full thuren set up My 3500 rides amazing. The rear leaf spring definitely make a difference but you will need air bags. Active sway bar was the most noticeable difference by far. Since you have a 3500 leaving rear shocks for later you won't notice a difference. I found a local deal on some Thuren tuned king 2.5s to finishing out mine.

If you can save money and bundle I would do the whole set.

I’m not the only member here that had a bad factory shock very early (2000 miles for me) I replaced my factory shocks with fox shocks at 2k miles and found a bad (leaking) rear shock.

Lol I had 2 fox 2.0s blow after 500 miles. They seem to be equal quality to OEM.

It doesnt look like bundling the rear is any cheaper than buying the rears alone. That is the only reason I am considering keeping the stock ones on til they leak

Kings look so good. Sometimes I wish I went with Kings instead of Icons on my Tundra

I am thinking the same. The 37s aired down to 40PSI will make it ride much better than a shock change will
