Does anyone have a 12v outlet behind the jumpsuit for rear passengers? Is it possible to add one?

I think the only power options offered for the back seat are USB and the 115V inverter as of 2019. There are many 12V port aftermarket options available all over the internet that you could add. There are probably videos on youtube showing how to do it.

Quite honestly, I hate that 12V connector system, anyway. I wish it would go away completely, or be replaced by a better design. It's a kludge afterthought designed to draw power from the original cigar lighter (now called a cigarette lighter) from the 1950s. The connection is unreliable and the connectors on both sides are cheap and incredibly low quality.

Well can anyone with a trim higher than a tradesman take a picture of the back of the jumpseat? I'm not against adding the oem usb port or 12v outlet if it's availavle.

Commenting to follow. Keep us posted on progress and parts !

Has anyone figured out how to get that endcap off? I have pulled till I thought the edges would break. I have found most of the parts I think and there is an open male USB port under the driver’s seat of my 2019 power wagon level one with the 12” screen. I just don’t know how to get that off and if that is where it hooks to.

This should be an option for all crew cab trucks these days. Come on Ram!!!!! I know these engineers have kids, right. Well they probably don’t buy the low package trucks. I have a tradesman as well and have to keep a 6 foot charger cable in the truck so the back seat passengers can have power. This would be a fantastic upgrade and mod to know how to do.

I agree. I had my ARB fridge/freezer in the back and I needed 12V. I was able to use the 115V when driving but had to switch to my Goal Zero Yeti battery when parked. Guess I am going to need to run a 12V to behind the back seat.

Does anyone have the part number for that Laramie end piece w usb and 12v outlet? Part number for the harness?

Trying to bring this thread back to life. Anyone know how it comes off. I added a USB but the kids broke it. Was planning to go 12v so they could use USB adapters plugged in.

So on my tradesman the rear of my jump seat has the two air vents and then the pointless cubby in the middle. I was able to reach over the top of the plastic (between the cushion and the plastic and push the cubby out while pulling from the outside. Once this came out I could at least see what was back there. Which is nothing notable. I had bought a 12V outlet from amazon but the difference in the USB I had and the 12v outlet is the depth of it. It was a pain but I used a paddle bit, and dremel and was able to cut a hole in the plastic (scary) and through the support underneath. I had to solder the wire to the terminal post on the outlet as the wire connectors hung down to low for the cubby to fit back in. Im satisfied for now but it was a pain to do. Now the kids can plug a 12v USB terminal in and use it that way. I wouldn't plug much more into it than that due to the size of the wire its spliced into under the seat but should be fine for charging a phone or Ipad. The 12v outlet I got is marine grade and has a inline fuse built into it so that give me a little comfort. Ill post a picture in a little bit.
