Rear plate issue

I would like to say, that I have never run into a issue like this. I got my 2021 PW 75A last Thursday, and the title this past Monday. I registered it and got my new plate. Unfortunately the plate and the two holes in the rear bumper do not line up, also unlike pervious trucks I've owned, the two holes are not threaded. I bought a universal bracket and it was still off. I contacted RAM and was advised to take it to a dealer. Am I missing something?

The screws go straight into the plastic. I ended up just taking mine out and running my airbag lines to them. I drilled them just big enough to fit the schraeder valves and secured the plate on with the nuts.

So the holes that are there are useless, I need to drill my own?

On mine, the holes were originally just drilled into the plastic. If I remember correctly, there was a little more for reinforcement on the inside of the bumper. But, the holes on mine went all the way through and just had regular, old license plate screws going right into the plastic. Nothing else. No inserts, no frame, just the holes.
Yours does appear to be missing the holes, though, unless I'm seeing it wrong. If you put your plate in that place, are there any holes at all? If not, I'd drill them myself rather than take it to the dealership.

EDIT: The hole spacing on yours kinda looks like European spacing.

Yeah there is nothing else. I am shocked that as much as these trucks cost, RAM cannot do what they do for probably every other vehicle they sell.

Hehe...wait until you rip the front plate bracket off. I was trying to figure out how to avoid that problem in the future (since I already ripped it off in a snowy ditch). My solution was to get some standard license plate inserts from the auto parts store and tap them in to the holes on the front bumper. Now, my plate won't be ripped off, but will bend if I hit it.

Thankfully this state only requires the back plate.

Every other vehicle is the same if its in a blastic piece…. If they would have put your plate on then you would have screw holes already too….

I think most dealers are putting temp tags on their advert plate surround so the holes are put there at that time.

Not sure what those other "holes" are for.

It looks like there are two "dimples" right above the bigger holes in your photo. I'd imagine those line up perfectly with your plate holes?

No they do not.
Thats weird. They line up on mine, perfectly. Both sides look exactly like this.

I'm still waiting on my new plates, so I haven't drilled yet either.

(sorry for the order of images, I can't swap them on mobile. I wanted the second one to be first.) 20210620_173248.jpg20210620_173209.jpg20210620_173243.jpg

I never noticed that before. I got to go out to check if mine has the same tiny holes. If it does then everything would be simple.

You can see the dimples in your photos, lol. That's why I initially asked.
