Anyone able to tell me if there is a plug under the truck and if so where is it? l ask because you can factory order this feature

I imagine there is more to it than just the plug. You’d need the rear bumper with sensors. In the cab there is a button that can shut it off, it’s probably integral, and it would have to be added to the vin from the dealer If you don’t have that obdII deal everyone is always messing with... Kind of doubt it would be worth adding.

got alpha odb, but for a $50 add on a build sheet l doubt there is a hard switch

Not aware of any physical switch, but I believe I saw in the User Manual an option in the radio to disable it. Which is what I would expect, much like some of the other "safety" features.

I have a button on my tradesman that silences it.

hmnm still wonder if its a plug in or hardwired thanx for the input
possibly a part number if some has access to that

I have it on a Big Horn. No button... the option to disable is in commercial settings on the cluster display.

Y’all are referring to the park sense, correct? I’ve never seen one without a physical button to disable it temporarily. So if you want to back up with the tailgate down you have to go through the menu on the display to disable it first? That would be a pain.

No, there’s an optional back-up alarm that sounds externally like on big commercial trucks. It’s disabled via the menu.
The front and rear park sensors do have physical buttons.

I can look at mine for a plug-in under the truck. Does anyone know where the alarm is actually located?

anyone have one factory installed could post a pic where its mounted an where its pluged into?

According to Ram Parts department, they stated it was above the spare tire under the truck. They quoted me about $150 + Labor for it. Parts guy thinks it is manufactures by "ECCO". I saw some if their units going for a lot less on line. When I get around to it, I will take mine off to make sure it is the issue and order it off line somewhere.

My buddy bought a 2500 with a service body. Backup alarm was annoying so we disabled it. It was up under the spare tire on the driver side frame rail with a wire labeled “back up” I believe it was purple

I use mine when I am out plowing in certain areas but otherwise I turn it off too.
