Rattle Noise In Cab

I have been hearing a similar noise as you have described come from the right front when I drive over this one particular dip in the road near my house. I have also been experiencing a click and clunk through the steering wheel while turning at slow speeds especially when parking.

I finally pulled in the driveway about two weeks ago and had my wife available to turn the wheel left and right while it was doing it and found that the end of the drag link was moving in and out of the tube where it is swedged. I did a little digging and found a Star publication addressing this issue.

My truck spent the week at the dealer for them to open a Star case for the presence of the cab rattle after performing the TSB so I had them fix this as while it was there. I picked it up late last night and didn't feel the clicking and clunking through the steering wheel pulling into the driveway but haven't driven through the dip yet. I am hoping that is gone as well, it is worth having your dealer look at it regardless.

I can find the standalone doc, but not the source reference vehicle. Do you have a link?

My buddy's 2019 2500 had gotten really noisy. The dealer did the cab mounts, which took away a layer of noise, but the heavy rattle that sounded like it was at the back of the cab was still there. They ended up finding undertorqued bolts in the rear suspension. Not sure if track bar, or link arms, but the truck is quiet as a mouse now.

2020 2500 "build date 09/20" 4,500 miles.
I'm getting the popping/clunking noise but not so much a rattle . It occurs on uneven, rough roads and offroad. It sounds like it's below the driver and passenger side floorboard area. More than likely the front or middle cab mounts. I went through same type of thing on my 2014 Ram 2500.
Checked all the cab mount bolts and they're all tight, as well as track bar, shock mounts.
Guess I'm in the waiting game again until they find a permanent fix.

Did you check front tow hooks? Make sure they sit tight in there.

All tight on the tow hooks. Also checked the sway bar mounts and end links, all tight.
Thankfully mine isn't as bad as some have mentioned with the constant rattling, that stuff drives me nuts.

Got my '19 2500 back from the dealer today. They finally found rear sway links were loose. Tightened them up and that takes care of that clunk. Cab mounts still banging around like hell but I've been dealing with the dealer I bought the truck from with that issue. So I guess any victory is still a victory and I'll take it!

Good to hear they made some progress, have they done the TSB for the cab mounts? I will check the end links on my rear sway bar this weekend but my clunk definitely appears when the right front wheel hits the dip so I don't think that mine is a rear sway bar issue.

Update: This is the dealer fix that was done to my truck so far so good

Per the receipt from Ram, says see service supervisor, there are sop parts, contacted Chryslers Field Tech about concern, advised to replace rear cab mount with updated cab mount design.

Thought I saw this posted up somewhere but couldnt find it. Truck is a 19 4x4 Ram 2500 Diesel. Any small jolt to the truck while driving, theres a rattle which sounds like its coming from the back somewhere. Ive tried folding the seat up and down, banging on stuff to see if i can hear the sound. tried buckling up the seat belts but nothing. Finally took it off pavement yesterday, and the sound is horrible. Anyone else experiencing this? I figure ask here before taking it in, and the dealer keeping my truck for a day and saying its normal.

Also the truck once in awhile makes a consistent 3 tick sound from the engine compartment. I feel like it only does it when its cold. But it doesnt always make the sound. Kind of mad at the dealer, I was down the street from the dealer and it started doing it. So i pulled up to the service department and asked the tech to come out so he could hear it, and said no and i need to make an appointment. ( Really grinds my gears how lazy people are, and how ****ty customer service is. Youre getting paid to do a job, do your job.)
Had the same problem with my 2019 ram 2500 in and out of the dealership at least a dozen times with body mount issues the dealership was told by Chrysler to replace them and it worked for a short time but the noise came back in the process with a lemon law attorney. It's to bad because I really love the truck but they have no fix for the body mounts. I spent a lot of money and it sounds like a 20 year old truck if you hit any bumps or rough road.

I would have sworn my clunk was coming from the front as well. I guess it was resonating thru the frame. They have not done the TSB on the cab mounts yet. I may trade it in on a '21 3500. I may contact FCA and see if they'll give me some kinda credit or something towards the new one. After spending almost 5 months out of 16 in the shop, I hope for some help in swaying me away from looking at another brand but not holding my breath.

I’m currently sitting at the dealership for the third time to “fix” the clunking noise in the front passenger side and the cab rattle (hoping they follow the TSB and Star Publication I gave them upon arrival). It sounds like my truck is falling apart. Love everything about it but these two issues.

My rear mounts clunk when hitting a sharp bump going forward but not in reverse. My front mounts clunk in reverse going over obstacles that flex the truck slightly. but not to often going forward. I've been waiting a year and a half for the dealer to fix. The local dealer I recently went to won't do any TSB's or star because it's out of warranty even though it's been documented since new. Awesome.

Sounds like it is time to find a new dealer. Under warranty or not FCA covers TSB's, recalls, Star Publications and Rapid Response Transmittals. At the least you should contact Ram Customer Care and get them involved.

Bottom line wirh all of this is there still isn’t a fix

The TSBs and STARs haven’t actually fixed the clunk felt under the floor boards.

Drag Link assembly and intercooler (oil leak that just started) on order and cab mounts will be replaced next. More to come...

Just got mine back from the dealer. Did TSB, rattle is gone as of now. I’ll keep my fingers crossed that it doesn’t come back. 19 5k miles on it

Mines still noise free, at 12,000 miles now. But picked up a new sound, believe its the rear seat belts where they attach on the low side. Going to take it back in. Ive been holding off since the last nightmare.

So what do they do for the fix? I’d rather do it myself.
