Randomly defaulting to Driver 2?

Hello,

I'm coming up on 1 year with my Ram 3500 (with the 12" uconnect), and this has only started happening recently (past 3 weeks or so)

The first time it scared the crap out of me because I went to get something out of the truck and I thought someone broke in and moved the seat around to hunt for things to steal. The driver seat was in a wonky position I would never be comfortable in and would never do. I couldn't find any evidence of tampering and was relieved.

Then it happened again. I get in the truck and the seat is wonky again. This time I was going somewhere and started it up and the radio was on FM static. I realized it was on Driver 2 profile. I selected my profile and everything was back including the seat.

Then it happened again the next day. This is not happening when I lock up and leave. Nor is it happening when I get back to the truck. It is happening *while I'm away from the truck*. How do I know? Because the seat is pre adjusted to the wonky position.

I'm now up to about a 50% chance that the Driver 2 profile is pre loaded when I get back to the truck. I even tried deleting Driver 2 (it has the delete option) profile but it is still there after I choose delete. I am the only one that drives it and I don't even want a 2nd profile, let alone it being the default!

If anyone has had this happen and knows a fix, I'd love to hear it! This is such a specific issue there's no way anyone at the dealer would know how to fix so I'm relying on the owner community...

Thanks!

Dang, I sure hope you're able to stop that. I'm not confident, though. There are so many glitches reported all the time. The closest I've had to your situation is my Driver 1 and Driver 2 profiles randomly swapped with each other, but not perfectly, so neither profile was correct. (I use one profile for daily driving, and the other for towing.) It only happened the one time, so I just kinda rolled with it.

Have you tried rebooting the system? Or even disconnecting all power at the batteries?

I have not done any battery disconnect, but funny you mention rebooting...

I have a different issue where occasionally (maybe once a month or so?) where it simply refuses to recognize my carplay device. Only thing I've found that works is the reboot of the uconnect.

Interestingly, every time the profile issue occurs and I have to switch back to my main profile, it will refuse to recognize my carplay device! So really this new issue means I have to switch profiles, then reboot, in that order. By that time I'm already 5 minutes up the road before I can listen to my stuff! Super annoying...

Do you happen to use the same fob each time? There is a setting for driver profiles to be recognized by the fob being used.

I thought of the fob thing and thought I was onto something! Then I realized it happens also at work, when the spare fob is at home. I've always only used one.

BUT now that I'm home maybe I can refresh and assign the fobs again to see if it goes away....
