Yesterday my 12" system randomly started acting weirdly. First, there was no volume, and turning the knob did nothing. Then I decided to see if it would play through Apple Carplay. It did, but was playing SiriusXM from the radio and from my app through the phone at the same time from two different channels. Then on then next restart, it deleted all of my presets. I reprogrammed them and they immediately disappeared again on the next restart. The third time, they seem to have stuck. I have the most recent update and have had few problems up until now, with the exception being that the AT&T cell system in the truck seems to suck. A lot of "A problem has occurred, try again later" and "No signal found" messages.

I've had the truck for a year. Anyone with similar experiences?

Please let us know via private message if you decide to have your dealer look into this. We would like to have this documented and have a case escalated on your behalf so a Case Specialist can work with your dealer to help find a potential solution.

Thank you. If the issue persists, I will take you up on that.

I had a similar issue with mine acting crazy trying to play multiple sources and dropping presets. the problem went away seemingly on its own. as for ATT..... they always seem to suck, the truck data is worse than my phone for some reason

Mines doing this too now. I’ve read a bunch of similar reports on other forums / threads. I’ve had RAM tell me to push the voice + phone buttons on the wheel for 30”, then open door for 30”, then retry. I’ve never had that work. Not to mention the inability to reboot this the radio while driving is a major pain, considering I’m always driving long distances hauling the family and trailer. The problem fixes itself RANDOMLY but typically after a long sit (30+ minutes with truck completely off). SIRIUS is the culprit as far as I can tell. In other words, if I don’t access XM radio or any of the “travel link” features the other media inputs work. But once in a while when Sirius is called up it’ll do this freeze, where volume doesn’t work, mute doesn’t work, powering off the screen doesn’t work, and you can’t change the media sources. Sucks!

@RamCares have you figured this one out yet? I know A LOT of folks with this same issue. Typically the answer is to swap in a new radio under warranty, but that is a costly and time intensive fix that I really hope isnt the final answer.

My 12" UConnect radio cuts off the BT media play if I exit AA. The panel on the radio will still show it playing. I can go to my media app and press play or press pause, then play on the radio screen and it will start and play for a while then randomly stop, always within the same song. It never makes it past one song. It will play for a while then stop. It doesn't do this if I'm plugged in and exit AA.

Of course, if I disable AA autostart in the phone, it won't do this, but then AA doesn't autostart if I am tethered.

Quite annoying.

I'm very sorry to hear this. Have you had a case open for this concern? If not, I would be happy to help! Please send us a private message.

No not yet - I’m not able to take the truck to a dealer for another 4 weeks. I am more interested in there being a soft reboot of the radio while driving, in the hopes this would clear out an anomaly without having to shut off power.

Okay! Please let me know when you do have a chance to take your vehicle to the dealership.

I've had a couple of instances where my 12" (and 8.4" on my old truck) lock up while driving and the only remedy was a truck restart. Never had to d/c the battery to reset it though. Considering the nightmare that d/c the batteries costs, having the functions of the radio return very slowly, sometimes 6 hours or so, that would be my personal last resort.
