Ram vs Heroin Addict….Ram lost! :-(

Cruising down I-195 this morning in NJ around 70-75 MPH and got hit/side-swiped TWICE by a woman in a Honda Insight. Literally hit every single panel on my driver side. Turns out she was high (assuming heroin based on the needles laying all over her car). Of course no insurance, no license, driving her wife’s car, and out on parole. Needless to say she got a ride from the police.

I’m trying to see the positives….
1) nobody was hurt
2) I felt in control of the truck the entire time. The truck stayed planted and never swayed or felt unstable. Granted I outweighed her by probably 3k but at that speed I would have expected a butt-clinching white knuckle moment, but it never happened.
3) the woman should be off the streets for quite a while. Hopefully it will force her to get clean.

Now I get to deal with the aftermath and assumed lengthy repair process. Wish me luck!

Yes, thankfully I do. I had to double check my policy 2 weeks ago when a drunk driver w/o insurance hit my daughters parked car. She had $1800 in damage. I think mine will be slightly higher!

Also, its wise to have rental car on your policy. We had Mercury Insurance (other driver) only cover 1 day when we needed it for 5 days. They claimed we didn't need it. So we never cashed the check. They must have spent double what they should have paid us in administration costs trying to get us to cash the check, that we never did, it was worth $27.00 to piss them off.

I had a similar experience this past new years eve. Drunk driver side swiped me on a major road and took off. Got her plate and called it in.

Ok, I see I've confused my own issue and needlessly provoked yours and OldJeepsNewTruck's responses. To clear up any fog, and then to leave this is the dust bin where it belongs, I wish everyone happiness in whatever relationship they desire. I guess my problem directly relates to the re-definition of marriage away from thousands of years of history, tradition, and purpose. Please accept my apology at my failed attempt to be smug and clever at the same time.

As far as the problems the lady is now dealing with, I have the deepest empathy and sympathy for her as our family has been deeply scared and affected by a member's opiate addiction.

It did harm him....her heroin addiction harmed his truck and wallet....thanks for pointing that out...
