Our 2019 Tradesman is one of the best trucks I have ever owned. I only have one major gripe about it and wonder if others have the same problem. It is the fresh air into the cab when driving. Sometimes it's not hot enough here in Texas and we like the fresh air versus the AC. I have tried every conceivable way to adjust this and just can't get outside air coming in that feels like what the temperature states it is, It's always warmer feeling then if you were to lower the window a bit. Problem is the noise when window is down. Is this normal for the late model rams fresh air inlet to be like this? Thanks

Just a guess that maybe the heater hose is adding the heat to the fresh air. I know that a lot of 2019 omners complained their AC wasn't cold enough, and the culprit is the heater hose. In fact, Ram has a recall to correct that when customers complain. The immediate and easy fix is to put a valve in the heater hose so hot water does not enter the cooling system are. Here's pic of the valve and here's a copy of the recall.

Thank you so much Sir, you might have hit my problem on the head. The AC seems to be normal with cold air and the heater will roast you out its just the air when the outside air mode is selected. Would you know how the outside air mode works? Exactly how does the fresh air inlet work and is it outside temperature or mixed somehow to where the air isn't as cold as outside temperature? also where would i find the build codes? Excuse my questions but i just don't know. Thanks

Don't know how the outside air mode works, try googling it.
Not sure what you mean by "build codes" but here is how you get your build sheet.
Build Sheet

I put a heater hose valve on my 2020 3500 HO just to see if a difference. It does make a difference. In summer months I close it. It's not necessary but makes me know there is no heat effecting my AC. I'm in San Diego area, so very mild climate. In winter months, I could open it a bit to get some heat via the heater. Again, not necessary, I leave it full open.
Actually I could leave it open 100% as my HVAC works fine, have not had the complaint so many 2019 owners had.

Thank you so much John. I appreciate the information immensely. Looks like i might be installing a valve myself.

Works for me!
Well Dave i looked at the build sheet and your recall letter and I could not find the Hvac code described by the recall no where in my build sheet. Just states Air conditioning. I don't know where the information is listed for the recall. Guess i'll keep looking.

That picture I posted was a shut off I added to the heater hose (kinda like John's but different) instead the recall and having a mechanic rip apart my interior to replace my HVAC box and leave out screws creating future problems and squeaks and rattles.

Yes Sir agreed I don't need no Ram Tech out of high school tearing my dash apart and who knows what the result would be. A simple valve for the hot water will work perfectly. Thanks I was just trying to see the actual build codes like in the recall that my truck has. Again Thanks a million.

Here's where you go for your vehicle's recalls Recalls
It is a valid recall, if not listed for your vehicle, the reason may be what my Service Manager told me.
He said they no longer offer it to the customer. Only if the customer comes in complaining about hid HVAC system not getting cold enough, then they are allowed to apply the recall (if there is a VIN match)

Thanks again John
