I had RAM Care for my 2019 2500 Cummins Limited and had the first 4 oil and fuel filter changes free. I traded that truck in on a 2024 RAM 2500 Laramie in December with RAM Care, I just got back from the dealership and RAM Care told me when I bought the truck the same thing about 4 oil and fuel filter changes within 2 years. Just left my first change and paid $408 RAM Care only covered oil and tire rotation not fuel filters. I called them and they answer was that on June 17th the updated their policy for only oil changes and rotation. I mentioned I bought this truck December 28, 2023 and they should honor that policy. Their answer was no, sorry nothing we can do to help you. I use to brag about my RAM, not anymore going to warn all my hunting and fishing buddies to stay away. BS! The fuel filter only was $408. Ridiculous.

Considering it's only offered in Texas, is essentially free, and the T&C's state they can change the terms at any time, how were you harmed?

P.S. Geno's garage has the full service fuel, oil, and air filter service kits. for $175.

Did you pay any charges or fees to have this “Ram care” package?

Supposed to be a loyalty RAM program as a benefit of buying a RAM.
Truth be told you don’t want them doing your fuel and oil filter changes anyway.

You didn’t buy the Ram because they offered you a couple free filter services. You bought it because you liked the truck. If free filter changes was the deciding factor, you need to reevaluate the metrics you use to make large purchases.

If you can wield a rifle well enough to bag big game, you can change your own oil and filters. The $408 you paid at the stealership would’ve covered two sets of OEM oil, fuel, and engine air filters purchased outside of the dealer. You can do the work yourself and chances are do a more thorough job than what some 18 year old kid who can’t put his cell phone down can do. Think of this not as a loss, but as an opportunity to treat your truck to better care.

I love the truck and you are right I can do it myself, but would be stupid not to use the 4 free ones. Thank you for the information and yes I am a sniper with a rifle.
This wasn’t the first time policies and offerings changed. They touted “tow navigation” when the 2022’s were released. That never came to fruition. Tons of 2023 sold-order trucks were delivered to owners who expected to have the full digital dashboard and fender flares when they ordered their 23 Laramie trucks. Only to be wholeheartedly disappointed when the trucks showed up without both options because Ram made a last minute decision to pull both features from the Laramie trim. These corporations love to put on a show and make it look like they have their customers best interests at heart but that’s really not how corporations work these days. Whatever changes can be made to streamline processes, shrink expenses, and expand shareholder profit will be done. Rarely does the end user / consumer benefit by those changes. Look at what’s happened to Boeing….

Chalk it up as a loss and move on. No use crying over it or getting upset / frustrated over it. At least you didn’t pay anything out of pocket for the promised services.

How was I harmed? Can you read? Paid 408 on something I was promised was covered on 4. That would be like signing a 100k bumper to bumper agreement and them saying oh we decided not go cover, XYZ. How do you say I work for RAM Care without saying I work for RAM Care.

Wow, 2 insults in one shot. Yet you couldn't be more wrong.

A contract is a contract. You obviously failed to read yours.

P.S. I was the person that approved your first post to our forum. Well, the one post that wasn't cross-posted multiple times, which is yet another rule infraction Tried to cut you some slack being you only came here to post a complaint.

You really should understand, this site isn't an official Ram site and the mods here work for free.

Also understand Ram Care, the FREE oil change program offered only to TX residents, isn't the same as RamCares, a social media and customer to dealer liaison.

You should have ensured the dealer gave you an estimate of any costs that would not be covered.

So who has trouble reading now?

You're treading on thin ice.

We'll give you a little time off to read the site rules.

lol.

change your own oil so you know what's going into the powerplant, you know it's right. i had it done out of convivence a few times and it was never at the fill mark. nor was it i assume the right weight or even full synthetic at that.

You certainly live up to your forum name..........................

*Unpopular opinion ↓↓
Some folks said the terms are subject to change, and that's true. Nearly every user agreement has that disclaimer in there though. We don't expect it, and they know it. Frankly most companies don't change the terms, but legally they could. They really should tell you if there's going to be a change like that which will cost you money. Heck, look at Apple and Android, they have that same disclaimer in their EULA. How many people would be caught completely off guard, and angered, if they started charging a fee for a feature/service that was previously free?
Hard to blame the OP for being mad about it IMHO.

....... you are right I can do it myself, but would be stupid not to use the 4 free ones......
I certainly agree with that. I typically do my own oil and rotations, but I use the free oil changes offered with the Jeep Wave program on our Wrangler. Sounds exactly like the incentive TX offers on the Ram. However, I do make sure to expressly tell them not to do any work that isn't gratis without first checking with me (I do this with warranty visits too). We shouldn't have to do that, but lessons learned over the years. I'm sure you'll do the same in the future.

... change your own oil so you know what's going into the powerplant, you know it's right. i....
I pretty much do all my own work. I actually just got some now springs/struts and have been chewing on having someone do the work for me. Even though they offered a good price ($200 to install struts, springs and track bar) I'll probably do it myself. Then I know the springs are oriented correctly, the bolts have all been torqued to the correct spec, and nothing was forced in/out of place. And if it's done wrong, I have no one to blame but myself.

Amazing how $100 fuel filters can cause someone to be disgruntled about a $70K -$100K pickup. Even after liking it so much they went out and purchased another. I personally wont let any dealer tech touch maintenance items on my truck. I get free oil changes on both my Ram & Jeep and the only person thats changed them is me.

Nothing in life is ever really FREE im sure you paid for it in the price of the truck. Yea it sucks but if it was not covered they should have told you before hand honestly but its one of things it is what it is…

If you aren't in a wheelchair, do it yourself. I didn't use my "free" oil changes because I found out it's easier to do it right the first time than un-screw what the lube monkeys did.

it's just as much the oem as it is ramcares. oem has to empower those folks. oem can't even empower the dealer network, much less an after sale escalation org, which ramcares is. oem doesn't give a crap post sale.

I used one of the two free Jeep wave oil changes on the wife’s Gladiator at 1700 miles, but everything going forward will be done by me.

I'll just point out one more time.

1. RAM Care: A FREE TX state only program offering free maintenance services TBD by RAM's sole discretion and altered at any time per the T&C's

2. RamCares: A global (?) social media and customer to dealer liaison team

@Showchez @Tomachicken

You obviously didn't read the rules as requested or when you signed up.

Grounds for immediate and permanent ban:

Only one account per user is permitted. Members found to be using multiple accounts will be permanently banned. Members temporarily banned caught creating another account will be permanently banned.

You probably could have fit in here and become a valued member if only you could simply follow our rules. Good luck with all your hunts this year and hope your truck continues to be good for you.
