Ram better come out with a a FULL fifth gen HD soon

Seems like...people who don't need an HD truck like Corollas.
If one doesn't have one then apparently they bought a lesser quality car...the market doesn't lie...

What a great thread and only on a truck forum! Like a lot of things, the differences between one similar truck platform to another become so close it ends up becoming just a difference in personal preference. Having owned a few trucks and several 2nd Gen 24V cummins I'm really glad I moved into a 4.5th Gen Ram for the most part. I do miss the fact, however - every so often - wrenching on the older Gens. But then I remember the list of quirks i had to deal with (i.e. VP44 issues etc) and then I snap back to reality.

I went from a 2020 Ram 1500 and traded it in for a 22 Ram 2500 Diesel and the cab being smaller was noticeable but it is still big enough. I switched because of what i pull and the 5.7 was sketchy and the 3/4 ton does fine and i assume most that go with a HD truck do it out of necessity not cab size.

I remember when any vehicle that lasted 100,000 miles was something worth bragging about. These days 300,000 is pretty much the norm.

The Super Duty crew cab looks spacious, and with eight cup holders you'd think it would be, but in reality, it has less useable space than the Mega Cab. Which, now that I think about it, has eight cup holders, too. :D

I really like the interior of my '22. It all seems tight and well done, probably the quietest of all the trucks I've had. NO squeaks, rattles or other annoying noises. If I were to trade it for another Ram, it would be fine with me if the interior was identical to what I have now.

GM is nice too but I hear they're having troubles after their '24 renew. Ford is cheap plastic everywhere. Ford would have to be the only option before I'd even consider one. I don't care if or when they've done a renew or how much power they have.

Why are you on here then why not go be part of the circle jerk that is the ford enthusiasts forum?
I'd like Ram to update the HD trucks. I'm here for news on that, and joined the site when I was looking to upgrade from my Ram 1500.

I also don't mind letting people know when they're wrong and pointing out brand loyalty.

Are you just here for the Ram circle jerk?

I looked at every brand, including Nissan and Toyota when I was looking for my last truck.

Nobody is "wrong" because it's their opinion on how the layout feels, the interior/exterior looks, and what their own preference is. I actually totally agree @wrvond That the mega cab Ram feels like it has more usable space. Now I'm not quoting exact in³ or anything, but to me it feels better and more spacious, and if I'm the one driving it, that is what matters most. Also opinion, but I feel like the interior of the Ford (even the platinum) feels cheaper than my longhorn and just isn't my style. Even the kids got in the Ford in the backseat and immediately said no it was uncomfortable and "musty design" (which apparently means ugly).

Hell if the Toyota could tow like the Rams I probably would have ended up with the 1794 Tundra, although their interior mix between all the western styling leather and "futuristic" plastic/metal trim is a little odd.

In summary, you don't seem to be here to actually have productive conversation, the perception you're giving off is you're a Ford fan boy that is getting off on trolling here like a douche bag, and then surprised when people in a Ram forum aren't all over your nuts about the Superduty. So are we here for the Ram "circle jerk", yes we are, that's why we're on a Ram HD specific forum. So take you're little Ford preteen temper tantrum somewhere else, maybe go bother the Chevy guys, that's a classic rivalry.

(And maybe people have brand loyalty because it's, gasp, the brand that builds what they like!)

Yeah. I don't really care about your perception. I gave my opinion, and a couple people wanted to run their mouths, so they got it back.

Ford fanboy, my ass...

Yeah I know how to read, saw your post history and saw you had a 1500, yay for you. I'm telling how you sound, and glad you don't care (yet you care enough to stay on here arguing for numerous posts...hmm).

Glad you like Ford so much and are happy with your new truck. Good luck in your future endeavors.

Like i said i was a mechanic for many years and while GM and ford would come in for major repairs Dodges/Rams would rarely need more than just regular service, the cummins has always been the superior engine. So other than the odd 1/2 ton i have always owned HD Dodge/Ram trucks since the first gens. They are and will likely always be the superior truck…. Fords have made me tons of money so im glad you bought one so you can support your local mechanics too!

If you know how to read, put that to use and read the thread. I posted my opinion, and then replied to a couple people who felt the need to be jackasses...kind of like I'm doing with you right now.

Yeah, I hear the same thing from GM and Ram techs who drive other brands. Weird, right?

Wow one widdle 1/2 ton you must have so much knowledge and experience of HD rams
I know that Ram's half tons are miles ahead of their HD trucks. I'd still have that truck if I didn't need an HD, and I'd be in a Ram if they'd updated it.
