This is probably a liability thing. People let kids play on their phones. What if a kid started a truck in a closed garage that was attached to a house.@RamCares Please also consider adding an option to remove the PIN lock on the start/lock/unlock. I already have several security features on the phone, it seems redundant to need to enter the PIN right after fingerprint unlocking my phone in the first place. Obviously some people would probably like it to stay, but given my lifestyle (phone is very unlikely to be stolen) and the fact that if it was stolen, the thief would need to already have my PIN or fingerprint to unlock the phone in the first place, I would like the option to disable this.
It's 100% a liability thing. While the guy you quoted may have fingerprint protection, the next guy has nothing at all. Most development is done for the lowest common denominator. This is probably a liability thing. People let kids play on their phones. What if a kid started a truck in a closed garage that was attached to a house.
Yes. The RAM app is entirely useless though, IMO.Is this different than the Uconnect app?
Neither did my dealer... they have the "Technology " guy who is suppose to go through all the tech features at purchase ..the RAM App is new for 2022 I believe...my 2021 was using the UCONNECT APP.you can schedule a vehicle service appointment with the app, but my local dealership didn't know there was such a thing, dodge app??? they said
Huh? They do the same thing.Yes. The RAM app is entirely useless though, IMO.
UConnect atleast has some viable use cases.
Not on my end. The My RAM app let's me schedule service appts, open a pdf version of the manual, shop, get special offers, etcHuh? They do the same thing.
They can provide it as a 'lifetime' service if they want to. Previously I had a 2014 Silverado that had a lifetime subscription to the remote start app they provided. The second one I got in 2018 did not.I didn't realize it was an annually subscription, I'm positive my dealer told me me it was free as long as I owned the truck. Guess he didn't know.
Well, the core things are the same...I wouldn't trust the App to schedule service appointments ...hahaNot on my end. The My RAM app let's me schedule service appts, open a pdf version of the manual, shop, get special offers, etc
The uconnect app let's me lock/unlock, start, send and go, etc.
I think people are interchanging nomenclatures in this thread. The ram app is, like you said, just an app about your vehicle ownership, and can be used by all owners. The ram connect app is the app for all the subscription based services for 2022 rams, and has the remote features such as remote start, send n go, smartwatch extension, etc.Not on my end. The My RAM app let's me schedule service appts, open a pdf version of the manual, shop, get special offers, etc
The uconnect app let's me lock/unlock, start, send and go, etc.
Huh, for me there is no overlap.Well, the core things are the same...I wouldn't trust the App to schedule service appointments ...haha
That must be it. I have a 21. My RAM is useless. And Uconnect is useless for me, aside from occasionally starting my truck from far away or locking it if I think I forgot to, as those aren't worth the price IMO since i have only used it a handful.of times. But the two aren't interchangeable and don't have similar uses, in my experience.I think people are interchanging nomenclatures in this thread. Sirius guardian would be the connected services provided on 2018-2021 rams, and it’s remote services are handled through the Uconnect app.
The new ram connect services for 2022 have far more features than Sirius guardian offered because of the new Uconnect 5 capabilities.
