I have a 2021 Tradesman with the prepackaged puck system. I bought the curt a16 hitch and when I lock the pucks in place it is easy to do. I was told there must be some resistance and I needed to tighten them up. We’ll on the crown nut where the cotter pin slides through I moved it one slot and it had a lot of resistance but I was able to use my hand to tap it in the lock position. Is it better to have that much resistance or to have it easy to lock ? I’m not familiar with this style of hitch.

I am new to this as well 3 of my pucks went in supper easy one was difficult towed around 4K miles my 14k plus fiver no problem

A little lube will help but harder to lock is better so there is no slop it will break in eventually

Thank you. I left it hard to lock thinking that it would break in eventually, but I was not sure. You gave me confidence that I’m ok. Thanks again

I set my hitch adapter up like that it took a couple months but now its perfect

Good deal, I’ll check it every now and then to see how it does.

A little snug is better than loose and it will wear in.

I had a frame rail A-25 I added puck legs to and it took a little adjustment to dial it in.

If it needs lube, I like to use CRC dry PTFE spray so it doesn't collect dirt. Grease is good for things that constantly slide or rotate. That CRC PTFE is like Frank's Redhot. I put that **** on everything.

My Demco frame was super tight, I had to take a file to smooth the edges on the mounting tabs just to get it fitted on my truck. I would prefer tight at first, it will wear in and @Brutal_HO offers a good suggestion on lube. I used lithium grease and they do collect grit.

I went and picked up my camper yesterday and everything went perfectly. No loose hitch and no noise. I think I got it. Thanks for your advice, I appreciate y’all
