Yup its just gonna keep going up

My truck has a build date of 12-21, I bought it in 1-2-22 and there have been 3 price increases since. just priced it online and almost 5k more. Welcome to the 1970's.

I just got the last one (2500) at 1700 bucks & change below identical ones on the lot last week. Dealer had it as a "special." He said it came in as part of a group of 10 the only one with the lower MSRP. Strange...I posted the Monroneys somewhere last week. Apparently if they order 10 or more identical units (colors different) they get them quicker? Some other discount? I found another dealer who alluded to this. I think the price differential was just a timing thing coincidence...

It's near impossible to figure out any of the discount strategies the dealers get. I think their algorithms are almost on pare with the airlines.

Just for fun I built my same exact truck on the online builder that I ordered just over one year ago (Jan 2021)

MSRP back then 56k
MSRP now 64k

I believe it, my 19 is over 15 grand more now

I just built my ram online and MSRP is up about $5000 from when I ordered it last summer.
Crazy!!

I got caught by this. I was pulling the trigger on ordering a 3500 SRW last Thursday and the price jumped. I thought they'd put the order together wrong. Have not placed the order yet, kind of pissed off about it. I'd been working with Granger for a couple of weeks on the order, sure would have been nice if they'd warn me about the bump.

I got mine at the Auto Ranch in Ontario Idaho last week. The dealer ordered 10 identical 2500's in different colors and when they came in, one billet silver one (I bought) came in lower MSRP than the others. He put it up as a "special" deal and I just happened to stumble over it at the right time. He said another increase was coming. Here are the Monroneys (window sticker).

"This is a window sticker/Monroney from a 2500 Laramie EXACTLY like mine...at the same dealer I got mine from. https://www.ramtrucks.com/hostd/win...81-807384614.1647187481&vin=3C6UR5FJ8NG229072

I picked mine up on Thursday last week. https://www.ramtrucks.com/hostd/windowsticker/getWindowStickerPdf.do?vin= 3C6UR5FJ0NG213609

Glad I ordered when I did, price has gone up almost 5 k since jan 5. On the truck I'm waiting for..

Ultimately the price increases will continue to drive up the used prices as well...

I ordered a 3500 BH dually in December
MSRP at time of order $73,120
MSRP on sticker $75,990
MSRP now on Ram website - $77,650

$4500 price increase in four months. For those ordering, I'd hope that's the last price increase for the 2022 models

I just ran my build thru the ramtruck web site and the price is almost $4.5k more than when I ordered back in Dec.
Here are the two biggest differences:

MSRP Base Price time of order: $48,530
MSRP Base Price on sticker: $49,230
MSRP Base Price now: $52,445

Level A Equip Grp time of order: $1,670
Level A Equip Grp on sticker: $1,870
Level A Equip Grp now: $1,970.

I had price protection through MD so I was locked into the original price upon ordering.

Whew so glad I bough my night edition when I did. Crazy having like $12k in equity in a vehicle lol.

Are dealers honoring price at time of order or are they trying to jack price up? My daughters Tacoma finally arrived and the dealer tried to charge her $700 for a blinky third taillight and $1300 for ceramic paint protection. It was a BS cash grab.

really depends on the dealer…and the buyer’s communication with the dealer on ”price protection”. Think there are several dealers that are upfront that the price is NOT protected (even a few that used to price protect have come out and said they wouldn’t/couldn’t provide price protection) other dealers never mention it and the price is NOT protected, then there are a smaller number that price protect the buyer…

Some dealers, Mark Dodge for instance, will guarantee a Price Protection. The cost of my truck went up ~$1,500 from when VIN was generated and when the Window Sticker was created, but MD honored the original price.

Price protection is basically a lie.. dealer pays what the original invoice was on a sold order.. as far as unwanted add ons that's bs also.. sometimes you just have to be blunt and tell them your not paying for it..

Folks need to sign a contract with the set amount between dealer and buyer at time of order. Included in the contract is 'any factory incentives at time of delivery will be deducted from the contract price'.
