Hi all and apologies if this has been answered or does not belong here. I searched but could not find anything specific.

I had my recall done in November of 2022. Since then, the truck had a slight hesitation (stumbling) under light throttle. The DPF also went through more frequent regens; more often than before, but not outrageous. I brought it in in January for the problem and they re-flashed my ECM. Less than 1,000 miles later, the truck still hesitates/stumbles, and now the DPF has gone through one regen, and the DPF is 1/4 full again already.

Anyone else see this after their recall? Any ideas?

Thanks.

My 2020 HO is running perfectly. I've heard of your condition happening on the 2019s. Sorry, no ideas.

Mine is 2019 HO and it also runs perfect. Could this be the 2019 SO issue?
Mine truck was dealt with differently though, recall was done at the time they did 2020 because I have had a bunch of other outstanding recalls on it (never done any previous recalls until HPFP)

I found a potential similar issue and fix on another site recommending reference to a TSB 18-102-22 Rev. A for 2020 model years. They did perform that on this last visit. Is it possible that it did not take?

Hello,

Thank you for grabbing out attention on this. This is unfortunate to hear this. Should you wish to discuss this further with us, please send us a PM.

Update for all. My dealer is calling this "normal" since they cannot pull any check engine codes. I asked them to escalate internally to see if they can do anything to reduce the DPF regen rate, since it is going through active regen about every 250 miles now with the latest TSB installed.

Do you know if the dealer opened up a STAR case to work with our technical team?

They were going to escalate to the regional technical team. Not sure if that means they would open a STAR case?

OK my turn; I had my recall fuel pump installed in late Jan. After the install the truck idled rough. When I let it idle for more than 5 minute which wasn't often I would get "service electronic throttle control" message with a pending P0088 code. The code would vanish after about 2 days of driving. I scheduled an appointment at the nearby dealership to have them do the TSB mentioned above and also to fix a wheel well trim piece they left unsecured during the recall.

When I brought the truck in the service rep told me I needed to do the 50k service check with them or RAM would not honor the warranty. I objected as I had done oil, fuel and air filters only 2 weeks before. He lined the items out but would not give a clear cost. He also stated it was impossible for the techs to do the fuel pump recall without updating the PCM software. I signed and left as I had to get to work. The interaction bothered me and I called the service manager. He cancelled the 50k service stuff and said they would check on the problems and get back to me. I called and turns out the PCM needed to be updated per the service bulletin, go figure...

In the end: I have the new fuel pump. The truck idles fine so far. The really surprising thing was my "shift flare", the RPM burst between gears is gone! It drives like a dream now. The only thing they forgot was my small piece of trim that is still unsecured, no worries, I can fix that myself.

Bottom line: The PCM update is worth it if you are not tuned / deleated.

What a scambag the tech you talked to! Glad it all worked out well and your truck is running fine now.
